Okay NS I wanna see what bikes you guys are riding. I'll start out with my Giant Revel with an X-Fusion Velvet RL2, it's just a starter bike looking to build up and upgrade to a nicer setup, also have a Specialized Fuse 2, will post pics later
 
you can't start a "post a pic of..." without posting a picture yourself.

anyway I'm looking to pick up a mountain bike this weekend at a bike swap. anyone have any tips on what I should be looking for in used bikes?
 
I'm on a mobile so I can't right now, and I'm no bike expert just getting into the sport, so don't know much, bit hopefully fellow NS mountain bikers could help you out...
 
i would say try to find someone with some bike knowledge to come and help you pick out a winner. There are so many little things that can make a used bike just a piece of scrap metal so u don't wanna get fucked over.

but brands i would look for would be cove, transition, knolly, devinci. All super sick brands with great warranty on their frames, but there are many others.

Cool. The district is definately one of my favorite bikes, especially the belt drive one.

How much of a chop did you put on the bars?
 
yeah the carbon drive my shop had was the ugly fat framed one, plus it was 400 dollars more due to deep rims and flat spokes, that sort of thing. i cut off 2 inches on each side, i want to get bullhorns or drops tho, riding much distance with the flat/moustache that comes stock is so annoying.
 
I have an Eastern BMX. I've gotten really into bmxing lately. It's so freakin fun! I've only learned a few grinds and a 360, but I dont care. I'm looking to get a fiend bike soon.
 
I agree, mustaches are stupid, my arms feel so awkward when riding them.

Fully stock carbon bike... yeahhh it may be nicer but anyone can just buy a full bike and have it shipped to them. I'm not impressed that you have more money to spend.

Love this bike, but it only works because I'm in Florida, trails are weak here so it does the trick. I have been trying to sell it and pick up a hardtail 29er though.

Just bought this one this year. Opus Schizo. Just had it out earlier today for the second time since they finally got the roads clean. I think I set a land speed record. I'm really really fast. like woah.

and something that looks like this when I don't drive my car to work. It only about 3 km so I make it in about 5 min on this and then I don't have to insure my car for work.

i got some new bikes for the summer....i sold my blackmarket mob years ago and wanted to get back into it cheap so here are my budget builds, each bike cost me around $200, the fixie looks a lot different now with trimed down bars, thickslick tires, black spokes and a nicer seat actually set for riding but you get the idea.

An older Cannondale. Early 90's or late 80's. Not really sure. But its in amazing condition.

Planning on riding ALOT this summer. To work and back and whatnot. Saving gas.
