Official Outerwear Sizing Thread

It is well known that "sizing" and "how will this look" threads can be annoying and clutter the gear talk page. So why not put them all in one thread?

In your question include your height, weight, and build. Include a piece of outerwear (or other clothing) you already have to compare the product in question to and how you would like it to fit in comparison.

Questions about warmth, breath-ability, durability, waterproofing, colors, etc. are also welcome.

Remember to be specific and if this is a repost let this thread die and post a link to the original thread.

My contribution/example:

I am looking to buy a Saga Classic Vest and need to know what size to get. I am 5'9", 130 pounds, and skinny. I have a Large Tall flannel with a back tail that goes ~5.5 inches above the back fold of my knees. I want the vest to be at the same or a little bit shorter in length.

best way to decide sizes I think is to measure the item you currently own that most closely resembles the item you want to buy and then compare the measurements. in regards to your example, you probably want XL. it seems youre looking for a pretty tall fit.

After deliberately measuring all of my outerwear I have come to the conclusion that I still don't know what size lol.

But I am thinking either large or XL. Also note that this will be worn as street wear in addition to ski-wear and I don't want to look like a goon when i'm just kicking it around town.

Seems like you're making the thread for your own benifit, and calling it a generic help thread so you don't get shit on.

Take it to the saga thread for help on this

better idea than this thread:

everybody that has questions go on the company's website and check out their size guide. most clothing companies have this except for some of the smaller niche companies

decently, but it shouldn't look terrible! saga this year looks dope and has a great fit. itll look god

So is it going to be baggy? or not that baggy? I want baggy enough to wear I dont look like a normal kid in a normal coat. cause you know...

definantly will be baggy. not sure your weight but if your 6 ft and somewhat skinny xl will defiantly be baggy and way more baggy than a normal fitting coat.

and i actua;;y like the idea of this thread to. should cut down on sizing threads

Well It looks like this thread is going to die.

Anyways, I pulled the trigger on the Large vest and it should be coming tomorrow. I will try to post pics of it on me for reference for people with a similar build to mine.
