Official NFL 2012-2013 Thread

Giants back at it again last night. They always have a mid season funk, now back at it. Ready for another Superbowl.

Eli is amazing. I wonder if his legacy will eclipse that of Peyton.

Also, must rub it in to San Diego again, haha. He would not have the career he's had if he had signed with the Bolts.

to be honest. any fuckhead who thinks he is too good to play for a certain team can go fuck himself.

seriously, this should be the ultimate dream coming true, a dream a lot of people have during their childhood and their youth and you should be grateful to live that dream and not picky.

obviously he won 2 superbowls, but its a game of inches and a game of luck. last year, they were a FG block away from missing the playoffs. call it "making a play" however you want, but thats just luck. both superbowls came right down the wire and anyone couldve come out of that with the upper hand.

ya but i feel like thats how almost all championships are won. especially at such a high level, rarely do you see a complete domination from start of season to the end. the ones who win find a way, they have a little luck, and a little bit more will to get that lucky play.

in every sport there are plays that could shift the momentum to the other team but the ones who find a way to make it go their way win in the end

maybe reading the page would help and see that massive chargers logo i just posted.

and yes i have sympathies for NE, but they were lucky to get 3 superbowls themselves, thats out of question.

obviously you think about the afc championship game in the snow and stuff, tuck rule and so on.

i am not a fan of this "dynasty starting point" thing because the raiders were in the superbowl the next year, so they had a chance to start one themselves.

but mind you, aidan, that i started to watch the NFL in 08 i think and when i played madden 08 i instantly became a randy moss and pats fan, and i didnt know all the stuff before. its still my brothers favourite team and although i am chargers first and foremost, there are a few teams i root for on any given sunday, not just based on matchups or fantasy implications, and the pats are still on of them.

guys a beast. i wanted to know how much he weighs, i look it up, he's listed at 325. no fucking way, hes bigger than anyone on the field.

Just to play devil's advocate here the year they went to the Super Bowl Rich Gannon was old, Jerry Rice was old, Tim Brown was old, Charlie Garner was old for a running back. It was they win or they probably wouldn't make it back. And it was either the next year or the year after that Gannon fractured his spine or his neck or something that pretty much ended his career (and it was against the Bucs again, still angry).

Also Randy Moss is a dirt bag. Grant Napear still refuses to call him Randy Moss. Every time he refers to him he just says, "dirt bag"

i am not gonna argue with you since you have experienced that time way more than i have.

and for moss, i became a fan of him after that 07 season which i never saw live and on highlights for another year or so.

idk if its a true assessment, but there are a few sportsmen out there (ullrich, raikkonen and moss) that i like because they are 150% more talented then the guys around them and it makes people jealous. and they blame them for not making the most out of their talent. i always have the impression these guys are well aware that its just a sport. they take it serious, but they also dont kill themselves after a bad performance.

i heard quite a few voices that moss wont be a first-ballot HOFer for pretty much the jealousy thing. a lot of voters played themselves and think, "yeah, i would have killed jerry rices records with these talents".

obviously he didnt work out for the raiders, but there is a lot of stuff going on that fans cannot see, so idk what to say about that.

I just had an idea.

We should make and NFL cult.

We can have every division be a thread, and talk about current topics and players and such. I think it would be great. I love how there is so much AFCW presence in this thread and I love talking about it, but It always gets mixed up by other divisions and vice versa. Maybe too much but let me know what you guys think.

Pending topics: Which will be its own thread

AFCW

AFCN

AFCS

AFCE

NFCW

NFCN

NFCS

NFCE

Guessing picks for each week

Playoffs

Superbowl

Probowl

Pre Season

Player Injuries

Player Trade

Gossip

Fantasy

Draft

Off Season

.

Just a fun idea. Might make it over the weekend, let me know what you all think if its a good idea or not.

^it would be a good idea on a site with more football fans or sports fans in general but theres some sundays where this thread isn't even on the front page so idk how much support it would get but who knows

go jags

Either one is going to get you some solid points but as a Dolphins fan I like to think we are going to sneak up on the Pats. Go with the Cards.

It looked accidental to me. That or he has exceptional leg control skills when he's upside down flailing in the air. Anyways, I'm still bitter over foster not being down so pardon.

that was the real horseshit call in the game. i think everyone agrees on that.

but that kick, come on man. i am not saying he knew that he was kicking schaub in the groin. but you could see that his leg touches schaubs body accidentally and i dont think you need above-average "leg control skills" to recognize that and do that slight intentional kick afterwards.

vikings v packers. hopefully its a good game lots on the line for the vikings and packers, but i have this suspicion that the packers are going to just rape :(

Hoping Brady can get me a ton of fantasy points today vs the dolphins.

Problem is if that happens it mean my dad will be pissed.

Lets hope for 49-42 Miami

I hope the pats win but by enough to cover the spread so all of my friends in pools won't bitch about the pays winning but not by enough. Seriously they get pissed when I'm sitting there like "but.....they won!?"

dafuq... rice with only 12 carries? what are the ravens thinking???? give the ball to the most talented offensive player on the team, not that hard

so guys. i got this little project going and it would be nice if you could just fill out this survey. i want to gather some test data for my survey platform. its basically about predicting the super bowl champ. just answer what you think.

thx a lot and massive karma for everyone

the idea is to calculate an aggregate power ranking out of these very simple evaluations.

if you want to know more or need a cheap & scientific survey tool for school & uni, shoot me a pm. if you can provide some test data, all of us can benefit.

I called it. The bears aren't even as close to as good as their record showed. They were way overrated.
