Official NFL 2012-2013 Thread

Great game. Flacco played overall great, though a little scary at times. Our defense needs work, but I guess Pats offense is good. Holy fuck that was close though. I thought he missed the field goal at first. What the fuck. I almost cried.
 
bilichink has got to be suspended after that, (assuiming goodell doesn't burn the video evidence). kudos to the ref for not turning around and squaring up after that bullshit.

fuck this week. every team i feel slightly sympathetic for fucked shit up.

especially disappointed with "my" chargers. they played like shit. obviously it got a little out of hand and if mathews scored there instead of fumbling, it wouldnt have been that bad (obviously not to win the game, just not to be embarrassed like this). on the other hand, they still lead the division and in the end, nothing else matters.

pats also were in perfect position to win the game. obviously the refs did some shit in this game and really shouldve ejected someone/handed 15 yds out A LOT earlier. you can go left and right if the ravens got more calls their way or not, but who cares. cant change it now. they missed like 3 interceptions. flacco got lucky. that last drive was good, but he will always sneak a bad throw in (arrington slipped and missed the game-sealing pick).

panthers just have to find a way to play at a constant high level. they are up and down way too much.

eagles, yeah, idk. it seemed impossible, but they keep fumbling the ball like nothing. dont like the bashing on vick though. like people call him out when he rushes, people call him out when he doesnt. the playcall/protection has to get better and the moment they start protecting the ball, they will have a good chance of doing some damage.

on another note. this week was so tough to predict. i think i went like 4-12 or so.

the vikings beat the shit out of the 49ers, the chiefs beat the saints on the road, the raiders who looked like a DIII team last week outlast the steelers, the titans win against the lions.

i also felt like a lot of the other games were truly tossups beforehand. like i could find a lot of reasons why the eagles would win against the cards. why RGIII would trump dalton, why the dolphins' revitalized team could destroy the jets, why the chargers at home would play effective enough, the patriots win against the ravens. hell, peyton is peyton and you couldnt rule out that he leads the broncos past the texans. jags/colts another example. a lot of people also thought that the rams could give the bears a run for their money. the panthers against the giants? impossible? definitely not?

i know that the NFL is all about "any given sunday", but i felt very inconfident when i made my picks this particular week. normally you have those 10 games where its pretty hard to miss more than 2 or so.
 
Steelers are still an enigma. Dont know about them.

Saints are done though. Already 0-3, and next week they play greenbay. Good luck haha.
 
I have to say that living in the Bay and being exposed to many 49er fans they are the most obnoxious fans I've ever met. I'm not talking about game day, blood pumping, everyone is riled up for their team. I'm talking average wednesday, you're talking with somebody, it comes up they're a niner fan, you make a joke about how you can't be friends cause you like the Raiders and then BAM. They start talking more shit than any fan of any sport ever. I'm just sitting there like "christ, calm down. We're not even in the same division or even competing for a playoff spot." This has happened to me so many times it's ridiculous
 
That bullshit chant last night was so great.

But can someone recap how the fuck the dolphins lost the game.. I was listening to radio and had to turn it off before OT.

and yes the ref's suck....but if you are going to blame anyone its the Commissioner and his crew for not settling the labor dispute with the real refs.
 
The commissioner's plan is better in the long run for the league and its fans, the refs plans is better for the refs. Idk why its so shocking to believe that some of the smartest minds in American sports actually know what they're doing. The league wants better officiating for years to come but people are so shortsighted that they get blamed for the last 3 weeks. Years>weeks.

He wants to have reserve officials and make it easier to replace or get rid of officials that suck or get old or get fat or whatever but nobody ever talks about it. take for example the great critical thinker Ed Reed last night, 'I don't know what the refs demands are but the league should probably just give them whatever they're asking for, I'm sure its not much'. This is the sort of shit that makes it on Sportscenter instead of an actual detailed report of the negotiations which would show that not only are the refs are overpaid for 20 days of work a year but are also trying to cement their place in the league regardless of their future performance.

 
You grow up in the bay area with a bunch of 'nose in the air' San Francisco fans, and you'd hate those teams too... especially if you grew up on the side of the bay where the sun shines like I did.

I hate the Giants more than the 49ers though. Least the 49ers don't REALLY have shit to do with the Raiders - The fans on the otherhand hate each other as you'd expect. The Giants are screwing the A's over full-on... but that's for the MLB thread.

If I'm the real refs I'm laughing my ass off at Roger Goodell. This is embarrassing, I would tell them I want More money than before
 
tie goes to the receiver but there was by no means a tie. That was an INT. Holy shit!

Why do you even try to pick that. Just knock it down and end the game.
