Hello all! It's that time of year again for the annual Newschoolers Secret Santa!

I'll be officially taking over for Erica this year, however the protocol is pretty much the same as it has been. However, we did this as a FB group last year which worked really well and everyone did great!

Here are the deets:

- You must be at least 15 years of age

- You must have at least 1 year of positive NS history

- There is a $5 buy-in

>>>> Failure to send a gift will result in public shaming as well as a perma-ban.

>>>> The buy-in funds cover any lost/not sent gifts, and any remaining money will be donated to an industry non-profit (TBD)

Thread closes November 6th 12:00AM. Please post below if you would like to be included. We don't have time for anyone taking their time or forgetting to check NSG. If you're new to this, YOU MUST HAVE BEEN ACTIVE for at least a year. By ACTIVE I mean you've been contributing positively to the community, not just had an account.

One more side note- There is both an American and a Canadian Secret Santa. The Canada Secret Santa will only happen if we have at least 10 Canadians sign up! Unfortunately, no Europe/International as there has not been enough interest in the past.

If you're accepted, you will receive an invitation within a few days of your posting. The nature of cult forums have changed, so we will be doing this via a private Facebook group this year- I'm still figuring out logistics, but you will have to have a facebook account as well to participate. If you have any questions, please post in this thread rather than messaging me.
 
Do I qualify even though my account isnt a year old? Eheath can vouch that i gave 25 bucks towards the fantasy football league. I promise to give a good gift

I'm totally down for this. My account isnt a year old but in not a douchbag and this looks like it would be chill to participate in. Let me know.

There is a thread of some of the stuff people got last year which should give you an idea.

I asked last year and this is the response Samantha sent me when I asked

"Hey! In the past, I've sent out box w/ a nice water bottle (or coffee bottle) a hat, a (cheapish) pair of mittens and another small thing. I had Daph last year, and made her a catlady box. I received a sweatshirt, beanie, and a cooking tool last year. I think a thoughtful gift is the most important! You don't have to get a lot."

The second to last sentence is the key. Put thought into it. You will get information about who you are sending the gift to.

Aww! That's what I wrote! I think it's key to pick a thoughtful gift rather than a smash some shit together and call it good.
 
I'm in!!

I'll never forget the first year I did this, I was gifted penis lollipops and I found my 7 year old niece eating them while watching tv. Proud Auntie moment for sure.

I'm interested, but not a minimum a year old account user although I've bought few stuff and sold a boot here. 35/US.
 
I believe it’s going to happen, the lovely ladies that head this usually start the thread early/mid November so be on the lookout for it!
