I wonder how big he'll get when he gets a new tank

Apparently lobsters can be functionally immortal, but what limits them is either predation, or their shells not being able to grow any further

That's nuts. Sea creatures are crazy.

Edit: I wonder if pressure from being deep underwater helps them stay smaller, and if being in a shallow tank effects growth at all

I remember seeing this. Its actually a pretty interesting story. I wonder if there is some kind of plot twist where the guy is actually a serial killer and is feeding bodies bit by bit to his lobster.

*teleports behind you*

not on my watch buddy, you'll be tasting the blade of my katana tonight for dinner.

I wonder how Leon will react to his new tankmates. He sure doesn’t seem to like them very much. The sweet new pad isn’t so sweet when you have roommates

Agreed, I know nothing about how social lobsters are but he seems to find them as more of an annoyance. I also wonder if he leaves the food when small fish are there because his natural predators are drawn to small fish feeding too

I wonder how much of it is just discomfort from being alone for so long?

Yeah eventually they die from exhaustion, as moulting is a very energy intensive process and once they get to a size when they can't sustain shedding and growing a new shell they die. But they as well as some reptiles don't become weaker with age the way many animals do.
