Official Jiberish August Back To School Drop Thread

One with the chambreezy logo looked cool.

Although I've never been a huge fan of the 5 panel's they look cool, probably won't buy, but still cool

Hey Guys,

Rarely

do we jump in on forum posts, mainly because this is your guys venue to

discuss and hate to change the course of a thread, hope you guys can

respect that. That said I would like to put some clarity on some areas

that seem to be misunderstood by some in regards to our roots and

direction of the company in the long term. The main point that all of

us here always want to be most clear is that we are rooted in newschool

skiing. That fact has not, and will not change. I think that sometimes

because we don't make neon colored 6XL t-shirts there is a notion that

we are abandoning our roots which is not the fact at all. Tall tees in

fact are not a skiing only thing and started in Urban fashion. Galaxy

made them in the early and mid-90's and what was once a maternity based

shirt became an urban look. But just like everything else, there is an

ebb and flow that happens and it resulted in a change in the aesthetic

that people wanted. Change is often met with resistance but we are not

going to be a stale company and sit around happy with the status quo.

If we cared about making a ton of money we would print 10,000 J-Crown

Tall tees and make 70% gross margin while selling sticker packs for

$10. We respect you guys as our market more than that and we would

rather provide you with quality and variety of offerings so you can be

an individual, not a billboard. We would rather continue growing the

brand with substance.

Additionally, just

because we are growing in the "non-sweatshirt" area of our business does

not mean we will become a generic street wear company. We will always

make things in our unique way like we always have and we will always

flip things the way we want to flip them. If we just made tall tees or

tall hoodies only then our company could never grow because we would

just saturate the market. You guys don't want that and neither do we.

Those who know us know that it is our biggest fear. It is why we deny

90% of the inbound retail requests we get (and we get a lot of them).

Our fit has always been longer and slimmer to fit the way you guys like

it, but turns out that others like this fit as well.

Anyone who does research on the brand they are buying will do

research and find our Family page and be introduced to newschool skiing

through the likes of Tom Wallisch, Adam Delorme, Mike Hornbeck, etc,

etc. We have been fortunate enough to introduce our brand to a number

of others outside the ski community including Method Man, Redman, Cool

and Dre, Don Trip, Pretty Lights, RJD2, Big K.R.I.T., Curren$y. The

idea of any of those musicians researching the brand and watching an

edit of our team, makes me proud to push the Jiberish style of riders we

support. If they spread the word and others take notice of what we are

doing that is good for our sport too. It is how you can bring a little

bit of your world to them. Our goal has always been to grow this

company bigger to give even more exposure to skiing and the style we

think represents us best; 'us' being all of us not just Jiberish. All

that said as trends change and as our entire market matures, we are

adding looks, cuts and fits to fit our offerings. Sometimes you have to

take a fine ass lady out to dinner and need to look proper, we got you

covered there as well as getting your Henrik Harlaut steeze on the

hill.

Our brand's focus since the beginning was to give an identity to you

guys off the mountain, and part of that is variety. Streetwear brands

are the ones we have always been associated with the most because we are

not an outerwear company. As we continue to grow in more streetwear

stores in addition to ski/skate/snow we will always have some focus on

relevant looks for streetwear, that does not mean we will not make our

core product offering. We will always cover you guys on dope hoodies

that you can shred in.

Love you guys and

your brutal honesty, always appreciate it fellas. Those who read this

and "get it" are the ones who are supposed to and are FAM for life.

Thanks for all of the incredible support we have received. You're the reason we do this.

Gabe

Damn that was long and I am feeling those skiing withdrawls too fellas.

Noobula, I'd say you're acting a little self-centered, this world allows for many different kinds of people, and you seem to consider your subjective views the utter truth, you, one of the nearly 7 billion people in the world. Yes, I'm sure your views and beliefs out-shadow the rest of us with your god-given endowment of understanding all that is right and wrong

And there is no longer anything unique about Jiberish, what a waste of something that could have become really special, it's a shame.

No, noobula is right. I like how Jiberish is progressing. It may not be thug to your knees shit, but other than skiing where are you going to wear a 4 xl or 5 xl hoodie?

The new stuff is suck as fuck! For the most part they aren't making clothing with shitty designs anymore, they are making some hip clothing. I like where Jiberish is going and I stoked for them, all they need to fix up is the ribbing a bit.

You know why I see my views as the utter truth? Because they are. And no, my views are not god given, because I am a god. I don't think gods can give themselves things... if they can, somebody let me know, I am giving myself a lot more stuff.

And yes, I know, style is all about personal taste, but when kids start a train of calling new Jiberish ugly, there is always a vibe that it is kids saying jiberish needs to stop trying to do new things and just go back to making big sweatshirts.

And I think that what they are doing is still unique and special. It fits in a lot more to the streetwear mold now, but I think that that is nothing but good. They still make things for skiers and to wear on the hill, which will keep them fresh should they become more mainstream among those other than skiers.

There may no longer be that camaraderie knowing that if you see a kid wearing jiberish, they are most likely a skier, but they will always have their roots there. And when I say have their roots there, I do not mean that they should still be making Cross-Dots and MVPs.

If you read what Gabe said, it pretty much perfectly encompasses what I want out of Jiberish. They are a skiing-based streetwear brand. I will probably never wear their clothes skiing again, for reasons beyond what we are discussing in this thread, but I like that I can wear good looking clothes and know that they still connect to my passion. And if they can be clothes that I really like, and are part of another passion of mine -- streetwear -- then that is only better.

All of this is awesome, I just have one request (that alot of other might share with me.)

Can you guys please just consider bringing back the OLD sizing? Everything was perfect about it. The ribbing was spot on on everything before 09/10, the fits were great. 2xl for skiing, and L for wearing around. PLus, you wouldn't have kids that are 5' 8" buying 5xl sweatshirts. It would just make alot more sense IMO to bring back the old sizing. I know tons of people who would be thrilled if you did that.

even better, have different pieces in different sizing. Complicated, i know, but think about it, have some niggnorant sweatshirts with some hugeass sizing, and then have classier, more street-styled pieces with more of a wearable fit.

I addition I would like to say that I really really loved the 09/10 ribbing the best. I don't mean the fit, but I mean specifically the material. This years stuff had some type of different material ribbing that felt cheaper and less soft. The 08/09 pilled, but the 09/10 was similar feeling and did not. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Nah they didn't work for me either, they're on twitter though. I like the hats but you know:

this is the problem with skiing, at what point did 6xl on scrawny white kids become cool? does no one else think it is fucking ridicules that there are 13 year old kids wearing 4xl hoodies and 6xl tee's? I think that the current fashion trends in skiing make out sport look bad. When I show people who have never seen a ski edit before in their lives a video, one of the first things they always ask is "why is that kid's clothes so big?", and I agree completely, it looks flat out stupid. People were "thug" for years in skiing before 4xl hoodies, why can't we just go back to wearing xl/2xl at the most? You all at jiberish are partially at fault here, without you putting out 4xl/5xl hoodies, they wouldn't be as popular, and there would be less of a demand for stupid sizes like that.

where the fack is my hat. i ordered last wednesday and abstract mall usually comes pretty quick to my house. i ordered my chambreezy the week it came out and it was delivered in that same week

idk why none of you guys got your snapbacks. i ordered mine saturday the 23rd which was the day they came out and i got em on wednesday. and i'm in MA

I ordered as soon as they were released on AM. Mail came today and it still didn't show. Delaware. Even if stuff is shipped from the west coast it usually shows in around 4 days, so this is new, and kinda lousy.

never been a big fan of the short-brimmed caps. gonna have to pass on those. on the other hand i had a brilliant idea for the winter line, they should offer their denim in regular and flannel lined. seriously how many times have you been outside in the dead of winter in your jeans wishing you had on some long underwear underneath, well would be your dream come true.

although lined jeans are usually bulky i think thats because they're usually aimed towards older outdoorsy/woodsmen type people, not young, hip, streetwearing, newschoolers. if they did it, they'd be spot on
