DANE STOMPED A BOSS SW TRIP 12 TODAY ON FREEWAYS LAST JUMP IN BRECK. THE JUMP IN FREEWAY IS AROUND 75 FEET WHICH IS PROBABLY WHAT THE BIG AIR JUMP AT X IS GOING TO BE, THE ONE AT X COULD EVEN BE BIGGER!!!!!! WHO WANTS TO SEE DANE THROW IT A X!!!!!!? SHOULDNT EVEN BE A QUESTION!!!!!
 
i love this stupid as thread. even though it will never work , i fully support and condone your ridiculous and outlandish attempt at getting dane into X games big air.
 
He better get practicing for slopestyle since he will probably get selected for the australian team with russ for the Olympics. Since he was born in Sydney.

Doesnt this = xgames big air? Why wouldnt they want him in it?

well that's bullshit, you bring up the no name guy who they let into moto-x best trick multiple years because he did a double backflip and tried to do it again (unsuccessfully). bet he didn't have a lot of results.
 
I think you talking to the xgames invitation committee will do alot more than posting on NS.
 
X games is not delivering. A wildcard or dark horse like Dane mixing shit up would draw alot of attention, which would be $$$ in their eyes, right? Let's get him in there!
 
i missed this...

xgames is based on results and has been for a long time. you might just be boned on this one dane. I want to see you there just as bad as anyone else.
 
To a large extent I agree with you, but you should remember that there is one thing more important to espn than comp results and that is putting on a show. Hell, the competition takes a big back seat to the theatrical; thats why, for instance, they would ever even consider fan voting determining the big air. If Dane got enough support, I bet they would cave. Unfortunately, I don't think a few people on ns is enough support because the x games isn't about the hard core skiers, it's the general television audience, and they don't give two shits about Tudor.
 
They are now basing every invite of AFP rankings, which are based on how many competitions you can afford to travel to. Invites are not given out off how well you do in the comps you compete in, it comes down to who competes the most (racking up points).

People like yourself who are pushing the sport so hard are suffering because you don't go to every single comp. I think the point system and selections needs to be looked at again. The athletes pushing the sport need to be invited to the biggest comps. There needs to be some wildcard spots that do not rely solely on results. I'm blown away that you don't have a spot.

I'm really hoping you get in Dane!!! You deserve it!!!!!

Even Klaus Finne is more likely than a few of the selected riders to put down something good (remember his Trip 1800 attempt at JOI?). Bottom line is, the rider list is way too short for big air - why can't it have a handful more riders?
