Official Baker thread

How can i get a pair of these 1 3p skis i have beeen seeing. My armadas are more fffed up then a 2 dollar hooker.

The white stuff?

I forgot what it looked like, had to do a quick google search.

I think I've skied with everyone but you Colin, we gotta do something about that.

I hayve skied with Colins, and he throws 180's off little cliffs near cattracks.

This weekend if it doesn't snow, the park crew tells me they will have jumps set up in the pinky park. Woopie! 10 ft tables!!

Duncan can suck a fat cock the way he's running this mountain. He's already funding the park crew, why not let them do their fucking JOB. Some of us don't get very much enjoyment from skiing groomers and ice all day.

/rant

duncan doesnt build big jumps because he doesnt want some fuckass suing the shit out of him like at snoblowme.

i would probably do the same thing in his situation, who wants to provide the chance for someone to get a 20 mil payday when you dont have 20 mil to throw around?

rumor has it this year is a testing year as far as parks go. they are keeping things low key to see how many people get hurt and go from there. if not many people get hurt they might think more about hiring a legitimate park builder for the big park so it can be built with safety in mind rather than just pushing snow.

the "park crew" is lifties who like to jib and are decent at it, its not like he hired out a legit experienced park crew.

Well yeah, but when you've had decent parks in the past and now he's cut them down to nothing it takes a lot away from us locals.

The lawsuit thing is true enough, but almost all mountains have parks nowadays, and you've seen the threads. Kids want parks nowadays. How do those mountains survive, even the ones that are no bigger/richer than Baker?

you and i both know people dont come to baker for a park.

granted it would be fun to have in mid january when freak sunny weeks happen, but how often does it happen in january? if you were the GM of a mountain thats known around the world for pow would you really have a park in january? maybe come march there will be a bigger park, give it time. patience is a virtue young padawan.

The only reason the Snowqualmie suit went through was because they didn't close a completely unsafe jump that multiple other people had gotten injured on, they didn't even work on it. As long as any mountain keeps a decent amount of attention on the park and how the injuries work out, then most potential suits will get thrown out before they reach any point where settlement would be a viable option.

What is Baker going to gain from producing a killer park? Is a sick park going to attract people to come to Baker? No. There are more negative results that may occur than positive results from Baker having a park. Why take the chance?

well see most januarys have been sunny, and the banked slalom is in what, 2 weeks? They usually set up a decent park for the slalom, and theres all kinds of those stupid threads that are like, "will baker have a park??!!?

i think if i was a GM for a pow mountain with tons of sick riders, id provide a decent set up when we're running short on pow.

Come on Baker POW pow.... Gunna be in Glacier for Mon, Tues, Wends next week and I'm def not going their to ski park!

yeah, the coaches maybe, probably not the kids. i used to coach with them... the kids do nothing but bitch
