Official 2010/2011 NHL Thread

Here is my analysis: that was the worst effort I have seen a team put in since the Phoenix / Detroit series. Just awful. If Nucks keep playing like that they will lose 4 straight. You can't win in the playoffs without bothering to show up. Ehrhoff at one point in the second went to dump the puck in but saw he'd get hit if he gained center, so he just iced it from 5 feed away from center. That's pathetic.

Im getting so sick of people saying that Thomas kept Boston in the game. People said that about game three as well. This was a team effort and yes, Thomas made some astounding saves and really held his own in the crease but by saying that you are taking away from the 12 goals scored over the last 6 periods. Boston wasn't being kept in the game, Vancouver was being kept out.

i don't think he's not giving that to thomas, and i agree with BruinsFan, thomas isn't exactly "keeping the bruins in." yes he's playing great and making great saves but the reason we won those games was because we exploited gaping holes in the vancover defense. that being said i fucking love thomas and he is vezina/conn smythe material for sure.

thomas is the only reason we are in teh stanley cup, do you not remember the habs and lightning series? with the exception of the last two games, our offense and PP specifically has been non-existent

without tim thomas, bruins lose to habs in 6 or 7 and claude julien is out as coach guaranteed

yeah, besides the 4 goal ownage that was my favorite part of last night. shit, last night was just a really entertaining game.. 4-0 shutout when they needed it, some okay fights, lots of anger.. and that marchand play was just amazing. made even better cause i can imagine how much opposing fans must hate him haha

yes but im not talking about that. Im talking about this series and multiple canucks fans saying thomas is keeping us in the game when we are either winning 8-1 or 4-0.

he is the hockey version of KG, you hate to play against hit but you would love to have him on your team

he's playing with such confidence right now he feels like he can take on the world which is great for his style of play...unfortunately i see a devastating injury coming in his career sooner rather than later - the way he plays + his size + how he gets under opposing players' skins i see him getting inured badly...don't get me wrong i hope to god he finishes his career without a bad injury, i just wouldnt put money on it

If Tim Thomas keeps it up he should win series MVP...with the number of shots being faced and only allowing one goal over the last two games, against a high power offense.
But the Bruins got to win on the road...which I very much hope they do.

i love how erhoff pissed himself when mcquaid went after him theres probably yellow stains all over the ice where he was standing...

erhoff had no problem grabbing mcquaid from behind and face washing him but once he realized who he was fucking with after they got off the ice he wanted to get the out of there so fast...i dont think ive ever seen such a big guy turtle so fast in my life...what a coward

he gets taken down by mcquaid which energizes the b's and the crowd, and then wont even go toe-to-toe with mcquaid to try and set the tone for game 5 and get his team amped up? pussssssssssy

you're not reading my posts, i gave boston credit for doing a better job, and of course im upset vancouver lost. if you're a fan and you aren't a little mad about your team losing something is wrong with you.

before the game started CBC showed a minute long segment with of clips of boston players bumping luongo everytime they came through the crease, so it is happening. i'll see if i can find it, it wasnt big stuff just the kind of things that would bug a goalie. and when vancouver did it clearly it did bug thomas as he complained to the referees about it. unfortunately for the canucks it didnt get under his skin since hes been a brick wall in net.

no i completely understand you being upset especially since your big name guys have been real quite this series which has to be tough to watch

i'd like to see that cbc clip tho if you can find it, im trying to think of things that stick out but i really cant remember any this series - except for probably marchand doing something like snowing him or hitting him late which he pretty much does any chance he gets, and is another reason i feel he has a big injury coming up in his career

haha well now we know marchand is a true bruin. He takes down 2 canucks single handedly in the span of 4 seconds LOL. We were watching it last night and everyone was screaming so loud the neighbors came over to ask if everything was alright.... we told them yes everything was great.haha true story.

man... things are gonna get be crazy at the next game

and i am calling at least 4 more pages before the game.

at least those now we can all agree that hit was the turning point in this series

and that Lou dog might be rattled

vanc fans - did you cheer when they pulled luongo last night? Apparently that was a big thing in vancouver and when they ask luongo what he thought about his fans cheering when he got pulled luongo simply said "no comment"

Also did you see the headline of the calgary sun? "Luongo stink's up the joint, again"

Is this the general consensus in vancouver or just people looking to throw blame anywhere they can get it to stick?

No but pulling him was the right call and should've been done in gm 2 after 2nd period. Game 3 was not his fault, there was zero defense. This game, that 2nd goal should not have gone in. Everything else was massive defense fail, and the fourth one was a bad bounce.

youre such a fucking idiot. you said your point about how soft they are but instead of backing it up you decide to go onto another random uneducated rant about shit all. thats the way the game is played, everyone tries to draw penalties by over reacting. i dont even know a lot about hockey but i sure as hell know more than you.

when you said he grabbed the bruin and put him in a headlock. obviously you are not an athlete in any way so you havent experienced the times when it is the heat of the moment and unnecassary contact occurs.

im not even in love with the sedins but i just want to argue you because youre a fucking idiot. you have no comparisons to other playes and what they do. you really have nothing valid that is in your argument so please dont reply and waste my time

Luo was playing like garbage and if the Canucks have any brain they would start Schnieder... You can't put Lou back in after that shitshow. You already pulled him and he knows he fucked up. The team needs something to believe in and a new goalie might be the answer.

I love how after the Nucks get beat on all their fans stop being assholes its awsome

that little marchand play was so dirty, people are complaining about how vancouver is dirty? marchand close lined one guy and then the whistle was blown so whoever got hipchecked wasnt expecting marchand to be a douche and got flipped. what an asshole

yea then i saw him proceed to try and bite someones fingers off, then the fucker was slapping at Schnieders stick!!!! the nerve of those Bruins - what a bunch of assholes!!!

i mean, like i said, it was a pretty hilarious play, but neither of the two penalties were particularly egregious.. the "clothes line" wasnt that brutal, and then the check he ducked was after the whistle, guy shouldnt have been trying to check after the whistle like a homo anyway. then he dropped his gloves and you know that's legit!

um, immediately following a play where a vancouver player tipped bostons goalies stick out of his hands, then followed through by trying to fight him and rip his helmet off...

yeah burrows is a little piece of shit. And to the person that said marchand was dirty to flip the second canuck after the whistle, i forget who that was but whoever it was was about to check marchand so he did what he thought was appropriate. wouldn't have happened if the canuck player wasn't coming in for a check after the whistle...

it was daniel sedin... probably the least likely person to hit somebody after the whistler. And even if he was going to finish his check, what kind of pussy drops to get away from the hit. It's funny seeing all the bruins fans think they know how the game works because their team won 2 games.

wait so marchand is supposed to just stand there and let Sedin check him into the boards post-whistle? i've never played hockey, but i'm gonna say "nuh uh" on that one.

the Bruins didn't win two games, they fucking dominated two games. the Canucks couldn't handle the pressure on the road and that forced a ton of defensive breakdowns and bonehead plays.

"Hockey Gods" relates to shit like that stanchion goal in the WCF, weird random bounces and shit. If we'd lost 1-0 on that random goal in the third that bounced up in the air and then in, that would have been the hockey gods. Right now, it's a matter of the Canucks playing like absolute shit. It's not something you can blame on weird, random stuff, it's their own fault for not showing up to the games the way they did in game 1 and most of game 2. If they don't show up in game 5, I don't know that they can recover. As it is, I think they've pretty much ensured a 7 game series.
