Official 2010/2011 NHL Thread

did you even watch the video? watch from :23-:30...they both went in for contact but sedin was looking for a call, sedin also has about 10 lbs and a few inches on ferrence..
even if he was just off balance and wasnt expecting it....WHY THE FUCK DID HE COVER UP HIS FACE LIKE HE JUST GOT MAULED BY A TIGER?!?! You see that type of puss bag acting in professional soccer not hockey

I keep hearing that he needs to keep his head up... even if it was down, I feel that the hit was a bit blindside. Couple that with being late as shit, I feel that he would have been clocked late even if his eyes were in the rafters... I don't feel that he would have seen Rome coming even if he had car mirrors...

hahahaha ohh man they both when in to make contact, and Ference knocked him down, and he gets up when everything is over and comes from behind Ference and puts him in a headlock, what a bitch, the Nucks have proven so far that they are a bunch of pussies, divers, and cheap-shotters.
The only respectable player you guys have is Malhotra.
See you guys for another round at the Garden

He's talking about how they went shoulder to shoulder then Sedin was on the ground holding his face like a diving bitch...

yea. he went in for contact. you watch the video. his weights on his heels and both his toes are pointing sideways with his arms down while hes stopping and turning. ferrence had room on the boards to get by. i guarantee youve gone into that upright feedle position when you crash skiing (if you actually even ski). im there everytime im winded just because someone has there hands on there head doesnt mean theyre head is hurt. hahaha the sedins arent tough guys. at all. soccer players are tougher than them. i dont give a fuck. theyve made more goalies look stupid than i can count

i'm unclear on what you are trying to say. in the first sentence you seem to be saying that sedin was in that position because he "crashed", but in the second it is because he is tired? i just don't see your logic, please explain further

I'm trying to stay out of this as much as possible now because it's no longer a hockey discussion as much as a Bruins' fan hatefest, but this statement is beyond retarded.

You don't finish first place in the league with most goals for and least goals against, and get to the Stanley Cup final with 'a bunch of pussies, divers, and cheap-shotters'. Sorry but to anyone who isn't drinking from the same Kool-Aid as you, using a few players to define an entire hockey team is just silly.

I wanted to add that in the case that you hadn't noticed, they're also fucking good at hockey. Some of the Canucks passing and playmaking in the second was unreal, downright amazing, and if there was anyone other than Jesus Christ himself in net it would have easily been a tie game.

vigneault asked loungo if he wanted out when it was 5-1 but he told him "don't even think of taking me out." i can respect that....... but thanks for letting us get in your head (see..the last 3 goals).

Since the Jets are back I feel this is appropriate, for this is what they were named after

I respect your opinion but I think that some of you are beginning to be somewhat liberal in your use of the term 'dive'. If you were watching the game, for instance, you would have seen the incident Ski_The_East's from another angle in which it was clear that Ference elbowed Sedin in the face. He in fact got a penalty for it on the play...

There was no elbow, it was complete embellishment by sedin
they both got 10 minutes for misconduct..there was no elbowing penalty to ferrence

Sorry do you expect me to magically produce this video clip? If you have the CBC feed recorded on a PVR or something you can easily find it.

then how the fuck do you know it was an elbow?
Two guys smacked into each other shoulder to shoulder...one went down like a cowardly bitch grabbing his face and the other one just stood there

they showed a slow motion replay during the game, and even the announcers laughed at that idiot because there was nothing even close to his face.

if anything sedin should be the one standing.. he was the one going for the hit... oh but wait he's a bitch.....

Imagine how much more it's going to sting when these 'bitches' beat your beloved Bruins and hoist that glorious cup :)

Good luck in Game 4. This thread used to be about how bad Canuck fans are but in reality some you guys are so much worse.

dude the canucks are just bad sportsmanship floppers, they prove it every game. you can't deny it

hey man i'm on your side.... i just don't thin kthe canucks are going to let another game 3 happen; as much as i would love it. But yea i don't see them winning in Boston.

because a few guys are repeatedly telling you the sedin twins are bitches?

theres a reason the rest of canada is rooting for the bruins

Diving? Biting? What the fuck sport doe the Nucks think they're playing, cause those are two things that have never and will never be part of hockey.

One word describes the nucks.

Classless.

I might have to agree.

Am I wrong or did I catch a highlight last night of kessler falling on top during a fight and proceeding to drill the guy twice while on the ice?? I thought punches were generally thrown standing up in hockey. Or is this more common than I think?

generally fights are stopped once someone hits the ground, but i guess the refs didn't give a shit. there is no fighting allowed in playoff hockey, anyway, so he and seidenberg were both given game misconducts.

the bruins are perfect and have dove once in their entire lives. and go shove your finger in someones mouth and see what happens, fuck you people are stupid.

and what i came here for, 4 GAMES? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? that is outrageous, but i guess its the standard for canuck suspensions. torres did get 4 games for a clean hit on jordan eberle, people need to keep their fucking heads up. the worst part is knowing chara not only didnt get suspended but got cleared of any wrongdoing for breaking someones neck on a much worse interference, fuck the league and fuck boston.

Got a big ol kick out of this one. Anyways fuck the Canucks they are scumbags who deserved to get manhandled yesterday. There is absolutely no chance the Bruins lose tomorrow after that win.

Chara A: didnt do anything wrong or different than what's happened about a billion times over the years... the difference was someone really got hurt this time, and Habs fans created a ridiculous stink over it.
I'd be upset about it too if I was a Habs fan but please... this has been debunked hardcore...

hahahaha you're silly. when the ref is separating players their hands are always in each other's faces, Burrows made an effort to blatantly bite Bergeron, and you're a moron to deny that. Regardless of what you say, no Bruins player would ever pull that shit, or dive like the Canucks seems to do all the time. Yeah, they have some dirty players, Marchand specifically, but you don't see that shit that he does every time he does. Any moron could see that the Canucks dive like the Chinese Olympic team.

As for the suspension, it seems pretty fair. the League has made a point all year to rid the game of devastating, dirty hits the head. It's not that Rome made contact with an elbow or anything ( it was more shoulder to head than anything), he hit him well after Horton got rid of the puck. Horton's eyes were on his pass, but no one expects to get hit like that after they've delivered a pass regardless of whether he's in their zone or not.

Continue crying about Boston, that's what we feed off as fans. We fucking live for that shit.

that is hortons fault, not romes. are you saying you cannot hit someone unless they see you coming? if the hit was as late as everyone says it was horton, if he had his head up, would have had time to avoid the check or brace himself for it.

i personally feel rome should have gotten a 5 minute major for interference because i felt the hit was late. a 4 game suspension is overkill and i feel the league is doing this only to make a point. if horton had his head up i doubt he would be as severely injured and rome would not be suspended 4 games. rome may have hit horton late, but it is not his fault horton admired his pass instead of being aware of his surroundings.

next time horton will remember to keep his head up when coming through the neutral zone. i guess he never watched don cherry's movies as a kid.

no i'm not saying that at all. i was a quarterback in highschool and have taken plenty of blindside hits from linebackers. the issue is that the hit was way late. a lot of hits come after the puck changes hands, but you can definitely tell when a hit is late. Horton didn't pick his head up because he was hit long after he released the puck. blindside hits create some of the most spectacular hits to watch, when they're clean and on time.

Have you watched hockey before? Gloves are almost always in the opponent's face in the situation.

Biting on the other hand, is un-fucking-heard of in hockey, or any sport apart from competitive eating. I've heard a couple announcers make the point that a lot of non-Bruins NHL players are pretty pissed about what he did, know why? Because YOU DON'T FUCKING BITE PEOPLE.

You see how scared Borrows looks anytime they show a close up of him? That's because he made himself a target until the day he retires from playing hockey. No one is supportive of him here, no one.

As for Chara, it was a normal hit in a bad part of the ice... that shit happens and it's unfortunate. Notice I'm not flapping my jaws about Rome's hit on Horton, despite it being late and cheap? Cause shit like that happens in hockey from time to time... part of the game sadly.

But consistently diving? Biting? That's as low as you can stoop in hockey... it's unheard of and a disgrace to the game.

Why in the hell can't the Vancouver fans comprehend that head up or down, late or not, Rome's only goal was to injure.

That is why he got suspended.

He left his feet, and went shoulder directly to head with intent to take Horton out of the game. I don't care if Horton still had the puck, Rome was still cheep shotting straight to the head.

One of the stupidest things i've heard, Chara finished his hit on Pacioretty, and it was unfortunate and unlucky that it was in that part of the ice, but blame it on the NHL because Chara did not cause that injury

lol, you guys still think we're all a bunch of idiots who dont know shit about hockey? people who have been chosen, out of all the professionals out there, specifically to evaluate these types of situations for the absolute highest level of hockey possible also thought it was a dirty hit. who doesnt know anything about hockey now? unreal. get off your high horses jesus christ

i really cant believe you're blaming horton for that hit. was his head down? yeah. was rome blatantly late? yeah. was rome trying to take horton out of the playoffs? looked like it to me.

regardless of the incident both players are out for the remaining season. the decision has been made. the league is trying to make a point and did so. however, you cannot blame a blatantly late hit on the person who passed the puck.

good, let it be that way.I love gettin riled up about hockeyespecially when the series gets good

if it was "long after he released the puck" horton should have had plenty of time to see rome coming but horton chose to instead admire his pass. you clearly have never played hockey.

i feel the hit was late and unnecessary but horton is partially at fault. yes he could not control romes decision to hit him but he could have been better prepared for it.

even if rome hit horton a second after he released the puck the outcome for horton would probably be the same. he should have been more aware of his surrondings.

5 minute misconduct from interference should have been the call in my opinion. if horton did not have his head in his ass it would only have been a 2 minute minor probably

ok, cool, i don't really give a shit if i've never played hockey before because i'm still entitled to my opinion. the fact of the matter is the hit was late, that's all there is to it. yeah, horton is PARTIALLY responsible but the hit shouldn't have been to his head and shouldn't have been that late. The league is making a statement, they've been severely punishing players that have been head-hunting all season. deal with it.

i might not agree with soem of the stuff you say, but you have a true icon and i agree with that.
