Myabe I'm just old and crusty, but have we seriously sunk to the point where we don't even EXPECT good answers to questions?

Is there really such greed, selfishness and laziness that people won't reply to threads unless they're getting an e-cookie in the form of karma?

I just don't get it.

i don't offer karma in question threads or sale threads.

I offer karma to those who are good members and deserve it.

But yeah i see so many of those threads

those threads were wayyyy more numerous when i first joined ns. nothin to complain about now.

While we're musing over some of the things evolving on this site.....what do you guys think of the new Jiberish Sell and Trade forum? It's literally 90% Jiberish this last year.

its a conundrum, give you a serious answer knowing youll give karma or agree with you and simply troll post, i dont think there is a right answer for this thread...

plus k for compliments

I have been on this sight since 2009. What I don't get is how some kids have been on for an entire year less than I have yet they have 2000 more posts than I do. Why do people post so much.. i just don't get it.

Kangbang joined after you and has 12,000 post. That's more than most people on this site, including me and I post a lot considering each of my sales contribute to almost 100 post of "Bump".

your right and its just dumb... since when has post count showed how good of a member you are. You could have 100 posts that are all 100% quality posts when people have 10000 posts where like maybe 500 of them had legit answers and the others were just stupid pictures in threads and things like "threads" or "this" or "bump".

I think you just explained why it's a non-issue. Post count has never been an indicator of member quality. Neither has karma.

Bump for this is sad you might as well make them change it to

I havent really contibuted shit to the community but if you take the time to post in my thread I will

givz U E-cookie

perhaps ill get an e cookie back

everything. it just seems so pointless to me, i mean does anyone on this site actually give a shit about anyone else's karma rating? just the way it's added up and taken away from seems so random, there's no way you can judge anything about any member on here based on their karma. to me it's just this random number associated with their account, means nothing.

yep. you could be a complete doucebag for years, have a shit karma rating then post one funny picture or video in a popular thread and get a couple thousand points.

for real. I've posted some idiotic crap, and my karma went up minutes after I posted it. I don't mean like stupid meme idiotic. I mean like punted as a baby idiotic.

This thread reminded me of when I was in 7th and 8th grade (millenia ago of course, as I am very, very, very, very, very old, ancient really, not young at all, quite aged, and probably never was actually young), all the cool guys came to school in the fall, wearing Brittania jeans.

It became very important to me to get some Brittanias, after all they were the newest brand, they had really wide legs, triple stitching down the legs, and the best looking girls liked the guys that had them (of course the best looking girls wore Pentimento jeans, which were the women's version of Britannias).

For the next year or so I hounded my mom for my own pair so I too could be like the cool kids, but mom of course would only buy new clothes when the back to school sale came in the fall. However, eventually that time came, and we went shopping.

The cool kids had a certain stitching on the back pockets, which I had always thought was like the standard for the brand, but when we got to the store, the cool kid style jeans were not on sale, and mom would not buy anything that was not on sale. I was crushed. Didn't mom know that I would become one of the cool guys that the girls liked if I could only get those magical jeans!

However, there were other different styles of Brittanias which were on sale! I thought, well, maybe I will still be cool as long as my jeans are Brittanias, even cooler if I'm the first one with a different style stitching on my pocket. Of course I was still as unpopular with the pretty girls as ever, but there was couple weeks there before the first day of school when dreamed of how everyone would be looking in awe at my new jeans.

That's what Newschoolers reminds me of, the perfect insecurity of the adolescent psyche, and the attempt to compensate for it with trappings esteemed as having power to win friends and influence people.

Wow, I'm really really, really, really, really old. I must be, because I capitalize the beginning of sentences, and use punctuation. Man, being so incredibly advanced in years, is really not cool, damn, I guess I'll have to settle for skiing every day, while all the Newschoolers are sitting in their classrooms, doing Newschoolwork.[/QUOTE]

I aints thats old though

please consider banning the sad practice of putting + k for good helpers in thread titles for at least a week or so trial period
