Off camera flash

Okay, is there a wire that you can put in the hot shoe and it connects to your fash so this way the flash doesn't have to be mounted on the camera without the cost of pocket wizzards?
 
you can use a pc cord to go directly from your camera to the flash or you can buy a hot shoe adapter if your camera doesnt have a pc connector cord
 
Yes but right now im super tight on money and don;t really trust wirless flash things that are $50

(i ment to say wireless transmitter not pocketwizzard)
 
i didnt even pay that much... works great. I have a shoe cord which cost me nearly the same amount and it stopped working after a few shoots.
 
just matters what you are doing, studio it wont matter just use wires but some things its really nice
 
Look at Alienbees cybersync transmitters. About half the price of pocketwizards and from what I've heard they even perform better than PW's.
 
i have the alienbees and theres no doubt they are really good no problems at all with them, but still runs you 140$ or so for the first flash then 90$ for any others you have
