Off Axis is kicking my ass-- HELP

I need some serious help with any sort of off axis tricks. I am comfortable in the park, but its time to take this relationship to the next level. If anybody could just give me some good beginner tips on cork 3's or flats to start it would really help me. Videos would be a bonus as well.
 
i learnt flat 3's at breck this week and its pretty much the same as a backflip all you do is set with your hips on more of a diagonal axis. also i recommend trying to grab japan as it opens your rotation up more so its flatter.
 
Kicking your ass? So I'm assuming you've tried them then. What did you do/what went wrong on your first attempts.
