it is funny though, to an extent. I think these guys just did this because a good amount of the people protesting(which can be proved through MANY MANY youtube videos) have no idea why the fuck they are protesting.

And again as I have said before, they are protesting in the wrong places. protest places where change can be made. those places are places the government are not the rich bankers that dont give a fuck about you because no matter how long you stand outside of their windows with signs until you chance something in the government they are still going to make a million dollars a day.

ya I hope something changes too I really do but my personal thought is that its the wrong place to be asking for change. Not that its not a good idea but I think Occupy The Capital would have been better.

As far as more people showing up... I think you will see less people as the winter kicks in. Downtown NYC in the middle of December, January and February is no joke.

I don't really like moore either. He's incredibly overated. He puts together a shitty movy that's incredibly slanted about a certain issue and gets a standing ovation by the people who really have a quest to find the truth. Yet those same people never take the time to research anything in the movies or look up any other issues until the next moore movie comes to theaters.

They are now using bicycles to generate electricty to charge their electronics.

I however, am in a chair, inside, working on my education (not a fine arts degree), in a little bit I will go to my job.

At both places I will be productive, and also warm with a nice cup of joe to keep me company.
 
Well why aren't those people at OWS trying to make themselves more attractive employees for that 1 job. That is what I would be doing right now if I was unemployed, but I also tend to have the belief that nothing is free, and that includes a job.

Maybe if the greedy workers in the U.S. were willing to break up their unions, and not demand obscene pension plans, there would be some jobs in the U.S.

Sorry the Chinese, Indians, Malaysians etc. are all willing to work harder then the lazy shitbags at OWS.

 
If they are going to put up a fight when asked to leave private property after 2 months, making a huge mess and creating a virtual Mecca for crime and criminals than hell ya pop the CS gas and grab the firehose but not until they have been first given the chance to leave or face arrest.

You try really hard to portray these people as heros. How is courageous to demand what you can't or havnnt achieved (money, college degrees, money for environmental projects, high taxes on rich to fill the governments black hole) its akin to political begging and it's really immature
 
You either have to weigh the risks barrow the cost and invest in a degree that will profit enough to make it worth it. Or earn performance based scholarships in which people invest in you because you have proven you are worth it and will in turn be a member in society worth investing in? if you cant do either of those things why do you deserve a college degree. Why should we the tax payers support you if you don't A. Have the know how to use the programs at your disposal to invest in a profitable degree or B. arnt able to prove through past performance how incredibally motivated you are and well rounded and a sound investment?

Ya seriousely, if I dropped out of college today I can think of at least 1 actual businesses I could start at tomorow and work at for life most likely, and thats not even including all the fast food joints/convenience stores that seem to be always hiring.
 
I got through high school by the skin of my teeth. Not because I wasn't smart but because I was more worried about where the next Dutchmaster was coming from. After working in a warehouse for 2 years I realized a) it was time to grow up and b) I needed a real job. I took out student loans. Went to a state school and got my bachelors degree. All for under $25,000. Yeah I didnt go to NYU but I didnt deserve to. No matter what the cost.

Im not looking for congratulations from anyone but dont tell me its impossible to go to school for less than 100k. If you (not you personally just in general) want to do something in life make it fucking happen. Sitting around mounting up all the reasons why you cant get something done is going to get you nowhere fast.
 
There are so many ways to not have a huge amount of debt when you get out of college.

Take me for example. College was getting to be way too pricey so I had to take a year of taking 2 classes and living/working in Montana so I could get residency for next semester. Now my college with be cheaper than the high school I went to. I will only have about 5-10grand in debt in my name when I get out of school.
 
Hahahahah 100k?? WTF are you smoking? The average medical school graduate graduates with around 90k after a MINIMUM of 12 YEARS of school
 
really depends on the college- I pay 6000 grand a year fulltime plus another 3 or 4 G's for skiing/ living expenses/rent..etc which is more than reasonable with a part-time job.
 
Not everyone can work a job while juggling their course load.

Some people can make it through college with minimal effort. Some people who are really trying to change things for themselves need to work 24/7 to do as well as they want to and get out with a good job. That is if there are any jobs when they get out.
 
The median debt of a medical student for medical school alone is roughly $150,000-180,000. That's not including undergraduate studies.
 
Figured it had to be expensive.

I mean the college itself is mad pricey. Plus you have a ridiculous course load that makes a lot of people drop under pressure. I don't know if many people could even work a part time job while carrying that.
