Has 11 armed private security guards. Since the liberals think that the NRA is full of shit about guns in school why is his daughter's school in one of the most liberal communities armed? Maybe because it works? If Obama really thinks that gun free zones are the answer why not demand that the guards be taken out of his daughters school? Haha I doubt that will happen he's not stupid

There are not thousands of people looking to kill jimmy page at godknowswhere elementary school.

I am sorry but it is not elitist or outrageous to think that the presidents family should have security, especially while we are at war. Im sure that there have been multiple threats made to that school regarding Obamas daughters. If any school received a bomb threat, or threat at all it would immediately be locked down and police or security would be on the scene.

And armed guards dont work. Columbine.

Pretty much, too much of the USA wants Obama and his family dead. Pretty much all diplomats and politically important people have their own armed security.
 
Heard the same thing. Was just in the shower listening to a talk show, and for all of you talking about how they are there only for the daughters, they were there before. It's a private school for rich assholes/obviously the presidents snobby daughters.
 
i doubt youre as important as the president's daughter.

and i doubt the guards equipped with those weapons are going to go on killing sprees and massacre communities.

So when it comes down to his own daughters Obama's like the NRA he would rather have a gun a minute away than 10 minutes. If private security doesn't work how come theyte protecting the first family? Armed guards don't work unless they have the proper tools aka ar 15 smoke grenades and flash bangs.
 
I'm from kind of the same area, so every sport I would play or camp I would go to (because most were over there) I'd be playing with kids that went to school there.

yea I mean there are obviously those types of kids, and mybe more so than other schools but there are still a shit ton of cool ass people there. st albans kids are the seriously pretentious kids though ahah

One hardly trained armed guard protecting a school with a population of anywhere from 300 - 1500 will do shit all.

Giving trained professionals guns is not worry some. Allowing uneducated radical (Southern) fucks to purchase an unlimited supply of guns and ammunition at will is worry some.
 
you don't think armed guards would serve as a deterrent? why not make guards or teachers trained in these types of scenarios?

i keep hearing "get rid of guns", but the fact of the matter is that there are over 310 million firearms in the USA. You'll NEVER get rid of them, so we might as well start look at our other options.

 
Double post, but why should government officials families be more important than the average Americans? Do they work harder, do they deserve it more? No. Of course they don't. It should be the other way around.

 
On friday(last day of school at my school before christmas) my school was closed due to a gun threat. Apparently some kid overheard another kid talking about bringing a gun to school and told his parents about it. His parents emailed the school and all the schools were closed for the day. Thougt that was kind of interesting. Also i live in Canada so that sort of thing is unheard of up here.

The average person isnt a fucking security guard and does not deserve to have a gun. How does your logic work that more guns will decrease the fucking crime rate.
 
I vote we just arm the kids. Make gun classes mandatory in every school nationwide, think about how safe an entirely armed student body will be.

My highschool has an on duty cop every single day. Of course, it is a regional school of 2200 for five towns, so I guess it isn't that absurd
 
If the shooter doesn't care about living past that day, why would an armed guard be a deterrent? The guard would be the first target, and due to surprise being on the shooters side, would most likely be killed. easily. That idea at least kinda made sense, but arming teachers is absurd. There are 7 million teachers in the US, what are the odds not ONE of them is mentally ill? The last thing we need is more guns in schools.
 
As a British person, this kind of shit blows my mind. We had a school shooting at a place in Scotland called Dunblane in 1996, 16 children died. No one called for Armed Guards, guns were outlawed and people willingly handed in their guns, Hell, our police arnt even armed on the majority, with special police armed response units in each force.

Yet, yours is a slightly more difficult and pressing problem, especially as America is huge and collecting all the guns would be a huge task, yet, something needs to be done and now is the time.
 
Yo lets confiscate all the guns, make the white house a gun free zone, and get rid of all security measures since gun free zones work and see how long the president lasts. # liberal logic

Those girls are definitely the target of so many psychos out there that it makes perfect sense for them to have that amount of security at their school.
 
This is a hard truth and i hope not to defend people but mass shootings arent a big deal. They are horrific, and blow up the news but think about how many deaths there are from mass shootings vs. nearly anything else. Gun control wont stop them, one armed guard wont do shit, and republicans want to be cowboys so bad they wont give up their guns.

Sorta agree with OP, Gun free zones are a bad idea. The Aurora shooter had 6 other theaters closer to his house that he could have gone to, instead he chose the one that did not allow concealed carry inside.
