.Actually never mind, fuck that shit. I'm not done.
If you really think about it, education and seeking a "degree" has become almost purely utilitarian, people go to Uni because its "practical". In other words, no one understands the true value of it. The nobility of pursuing knowledge and intellect has been forgotten. There was a time when an electrical engineer major could be found taking, lets say, Spanish literature, because he had the opportunity.
Jobs are meant to satisfy the soul just as much as they are meant to contribute to society.
It all falls back on social values, and the entitlement that we as a generation feel. The world is in for a rough ride for the next 20-40 years.
I seriously dare anyone to disagree with me. No matter where you live a TBTF TNC has partly or completely robbed your country of it's democracy. And all you want to do is lay back and let it happen? I understand that most of us skiers come from relatively well-off family situation, and have extensive financial safety nets, so this whole fiasco can lack tangibility or reliability (I was simply fortunate enough to have an overqualified Irish high school economics teacher). Regardless, shame on you for trying to demonize the Quebecois protestors.
As far as the discussion on obama's support of gay marriage, he isn't making a very smart campaign move. He's going to loose some important swing states no doubt, which could potentially cost him the election if the new statement doesn't excite the voters enough and bring in the much needed fresh support.
He's got balls for stepping up and making such a statement (one which means a lot for me personally), but now is definitely NOT the time to gamble with his campaign, because with the poles pretty much at 1:1 against Romney, it could result in a full scale debacle.
But economics and politics is boring so who cares. Lets go do cocaine and sell some mortgages baby!! OH YEAH, THE GOOD LIFE!
