Oakley goggles strap compatibility

Are straps from one frame model to the next swapable? For example, from A frame 2.0 to flight deck XM?

The Oakley A Frame Straps and Flight Deck Straps are not interchangeable. They have different connectors. Maybe you can get creative by cutting off the strap and reattaching it to the plastic connector, but idk how to do it and I wouldn't recommend it. Replacement Flight Deck straps are available on the Oakley website for $14.

Also are XM and M models the same?

I'm 95% sure the old XM and current M sizes are the same. The old naming scheme was confusing. I think they changed it from XL and XM to a more normal L and M

They might. I can't find any official info about it online. You should be able to pry a flathead screwdriver or butter knife into the goggle strap attachment area to remove your straps and see if they look like the replacement straps on their website. Oakley lacks a lot of literature about this kind of thing.

yeah right? i don't really see anything specifying it which is kind of surprising cause i thought they'd like to push the idea of c u s t o m i z a t i o n with replacement straps and all

thanks! it looks like it will fit to me too. i'll update this thread when they arrive and i find out

Please do! I'm curious.

Knowing Oakley and their parent company Luxottica, it wouldn't surprise me if they keep quiet about replaceability and repair because they want customers to buy brand new goggles if a strap or lens gets worn out or damaged

The pro strap arrived but I just now tried it on my Canopy goggles. It worked like you said it might!

highly recommend it to anyone who wants to not have those plastic adjuster pieces on the strap. Mine made it uncomfortable under my helmet

Here's what the pieces look like. Note the 40 and 50mm versions on the package. These are 40, I guess some other goggles use 50mm strap and the connector piece I suppose is different..?

Just to confirm, this wouldn’t work on Crowbars right?

umm not sure, i'm not as knowledgeable as others about some of this spec stuff. see the package above though? it does show there's another size, no idea what it's for though... anyway i have my canopies with this strap at home and i think some crowbars in the same bag, i can check later if you want

Thanks, it looks doubtful now that I double checked. Crowbar straps have curved connections which look a little different

Yea that was actually my plan! I’ve gotten decent a sewing so 100% going to give it a shot with a strap I’m not worried about ruining
