someone got me started on this and through my own experience i thought it deserved its own thread. recently i went to go buy an oakley incubator jacket off okaley.com since my local ski shiop diodnt have one, in fact neither did all of ottawa or the oakley rep here. So neways i figured my last resort would be oakley.com. But to my surprise they were sold out too, its funny how they could be sold out of 95% of ALL their jackets when the ski season hasnt started yet. So thinking this was just a mistake on the website i gave them a call and they told me 'yeah man we are all sold out our stuff just goes out like crazy'... now thinking like ANY business should, if they are selling out of stuff like 'crazy' mostr demand=moreproduction. But i dont think they realize this.... someone told me 'yeah they shoulsdnt make a lot of their products cause then it just wouldnt be oakley' yeah well why do they mass produce their goggles and eyewear stuff bud? neways i tihnk its stupid and if someone wants an oakley product they should be able to sell it to you, especially when it is this early in the season...

What the hell were they doing with a car on the moon?... havent they gone far enough?
 
Haven't you noticed that every thing in the ski industry is screwed up and not managed very well. Most buisnesses are run by idiots who don't give a shit about kids like us that want there products. You have your money in hand yet they won't sell you the product because of this and that. Bullshit i say! I suggest you write a letter and complain. If you do a good job maybe you will get a free jacket or something!

If they had it they would have sold it to you dude. Most companies are already making stuff for next year so they can't stop production and make one single jacket for you. A lot of ski companies have been sold out of skis for weeks now. That's just the way it is. Yes, I know it stinks but what are you going to do about it.

And by writing bad letters you are doing nothing for yourself or for the sport, so please don't.

And if you really wanted that jacket, I guarantee you that you could find it. There is no way that every single one of their jackets has already been sold, so just be resourceful and you will find one somewhere.

 
Would you like everyone to have the same gear? Ive already seen 10ppl with the same puffys as me. Anyhow its not a matter of production Im sure, they are apparently aware of the demand. I bet they are operating on a limited production model, which increases demand further and allows them to have such high prices.

ill get anything by a good ski brand and good quality thats like on sale or cheaper, rather than looking for one thing only, cause then you get fucked over by the price if your not careful and shit, dun.

it is that fact that it is exclusive, not everyone can have it, so its in demand, its simple supply and demand stratagey, you insulting them without thinking = bad idea, because we all know whats going on here, how can they be a bad company when they put up the money for progressive events like superpark? they simply want to keep their stuff exclusive so you really want to buy it so, yes, they can charge high prices for it. welcome to marketing

so they are a bad company because they dont make tons of their produtcs is what you are saying? your suggestion is to make more so they can make even more profit, what you are bashing them for in the first place. its supply and demand, and yea they want money, who doesnt?

See oakley just got a huge deal the the us department of defence, worth more then a few hundred more jackets. I mean, this is supposedly billions of dollars in the contract, they make boots goggles watches glasses etc etc. They really don't give a shit about the smaller business, aka us.

ill tell you right now my aunt works for the ski industry and she works her ass off, she markets all over the west for hardcorps and they do care about kids, dont be idiots and think you know what your tlakign about... you dont even know half the people who work their.. for all you know they might be the nicest people youve ever met!

 
Contracts aren't always a year long btw, i mean, oakley has been endorsing comps for a long time, whereas, they didn't have the military grant they recieved a year ago. I am not talkn about the glasses, grant, i'm talkn about the fuckn huge grant they had. Dude, i really have a respect for ppl who work hard, unless ure mom is the president of oakley, we aren't dissin her.

ok fucker, listen up. i'm sick of little bitches like you bitching and moaning about the fact that a company is out of supplies for the moment. They go through production phases at most companies, and one of the biggest productions is in the fall and the spring...i tried to buy a bike from Klein recently and they're all sold out becuase all the dealers are buying them to sell. dont diss the company just becuase they're trying their hardest to put out a good product. oakley is one of the single largest suppliers of skiing gear on the planet. so dont fuck around and bitch becuase they didnt have your jacket in...i'm sure they'll be producing some more, but they cant focus constantly on making sure that they can suit your needs....if you think its such a huge problem, why dont you get off your ass, go to college, get a degree, and work for the FUCKING COMPANY YOU ASSJACK!!!! get down there, get a job making incubator jackets day in and day out and see how you like it! and then when some little kid calls like you did and wants an incubator jacket and you dont have one and he bitches, you can tell him whats up becuase by then you'll have realized that its not a big fucking deal and that life goes on....so dont bitch, make a difference if you want to see something going down. by the way, other companies that have barely anything in stock right now....K2, Salomon, Klein, etc....TONS OF COMPANIES....get over it asshole, lest you receive another beating.

 
I ordered the Wisdom goggles and they told me they wouldnt be shipped until the last week of december. I got them the 13th. I think that makes them a better company than most. I didnt get my october and november issues of powder mid december. Freeze took like 6 months before i got my first issue.

this is the same problem Siver Cartel had last season. I wanted some of their stuff but they were all sold out. Maybe Oakley didn't expect to explode like they did. you never know from one season to the next.

oakley is a pretty good company, don't diss it because they didn't have your jacket. but still, everyone has it. go to the hill, ull see maybe 30 percent dragon, 20 percent spy and 50 percent oakley, they arent really exclusive eyewear-wise because they have so much diversity in their eyewear but its harder to make diversity in clothing. the clothing part is more the exclusive part of the company. ao ya, itd be gay if everyone had the same clothes
