Hey I am supposed to be recieving warranty replacements on my last years invaders... I just got informed that I can upgrade to 07's for 50 bucks, or probably get anything else in stock for the same price...about the only others i am considering are the silencers, or fischer addicts...has anyone had any real experience with either the fischers or k2's to be able to persuade me...I dont mind line skis...but that havent impressed me lately and im beginning to think i should get away from them...I rode the first gen. PEs like two years ago and thought that they were just ok...What should I do?

yeah the silencers are really skinny, but if your only using them for park then it dosent matter. if your doing more jumps id say silencers for sure, if your doing more rails, then probably invaders. for park all around they both are about as good as it gets.

Well no shit but once your skis absolutely fall apart on you it makes you second guess getting the same ones...even if theyve claimed that its fixed....you tool

The trouble here is that you're looking at different kinds of skis:

The Invader and Addict are symmetrical park skis. They're wider and flexier and are center mounted. These will be better for rails and jumps, especially spins. Use these if you spend most of your time in the park.

The silencer is an all mountain ski that is not symmetrical. It is thinner and not center mounted, comparable to the Line Chronic. This means it will behave better on the groomed runs, but will still be good for park. Use these if you spend most of your time on the groomers.

you can get all of the skis center mounted and the silencer is as much of a park ski as the anthem, but if your going to be hitting large stuff i'd go with the fischers or lines depending on your weight. the silencers are just the old pes with a different top sheet and graphic.

Sure, you can get any ski center mounted, but if you wount a ski in the center when it wasn't designed to be, you will not have your boots over the waist and the ski's performance will go down the tubes. If you want center mount, get a symmetrical ski.

"Apparently the Silencers blow and are Only 78 underfoot".

Seems somebody believes too much of what they read, you might want to try a product before making claims on it's performance. The Silencer is 80mm underfoot, making it a wider-waisted ski than the 1080 SPK (78mm), the 1080 FOIL (79mm), the Troublemaker (78mm), the Head MOJO (79mm), Atomic Triplets HP (78mm), and the same as the Line Chronic and Rossi Scratch Sprayer FS.

dude it dosent mess up the ski when you center mount. sure if your a pussy and you cant handle a little change then you might not like it. it does make it suck for powder but you would have to be a dumbass to buy something like silencers or invaders for powder. if your doing mostly park there is no reason not to center mount.

they are pretty stiff, but not as stiff as pe's or karmas or something like that. id say they feel about as stiff as last years stl's, this years tnk's and ar5's or ar6's.

regardless, what are you gonna do with a ski that skinny, even on the east, that is advertised as an all mountain ski. it will hardly measure it up to its predecessors the fujative or the pe in their respective desciplines.

^if they're the same as the old PE, then you're selling them way short. I rode Orig PE's all over the BC and in the park, they were awesome. Depsite what everyone likes to say your skis don't melt in powder if they are under 110mm at the waist.

I had the old Invaders and loved them. but they did fall apart so i can see where you're coming from. the addicts are pretty much an invader with out butter zones and I thought they were slightly stiffer. I have not skied any Silencers but really if your a good skier you can ski any ski any where. you dont need a fat ski for pow and a center mounted ski will work fine in powder you just have to get a little back on them. All three skis are pretty good choices i would say.

id go invaders. i love k2 but i heard the silencers dont measure up to the hype, you might just wana wait for ur hills demo day. there usually within a few weeks of opening day.

i rode the silencers all spring summer and i loved them rode them every day thrashed the shit out of them water ramped on them in september and they held up pretty good. heni even threw them at rocks and they still held up great. I absolutely loved them. Theyre right in between the fuji and pe. stiffer than the fuji but not a bombproof as the pe
