Is there a way to pay back the cash you borrowed? I see some people have like $56,000 cash as opposed to $100,000 borrowed like me.

Yes, made a killing shorting them overnight.

Place to be right now. If you have insight into any part of them you can do quite well.

The IPOs in the last 16 months raised north of $5.3 billion for their companies, with most companies asking price being blown out of the water.

Haha -17% in a few hours...

The dangers of short selling against the grain.... tough to predict a stock popping from $13 to $19 on no news

What the hell, I just got like 500,000$ for no apparent reason. Not complaining or anything, but its really weird cause it doesnt seem to show up in the rankings, but on my portfolio it says I have 500k

They corrected it for me, but the leader has tooons of $$$. fukdat

You guys who went up a ton on apple, did you short it over the 7 to 1 stock split? I am thinking if you did there was a glitch in the game that gave you 7 times more shares without recognizing the decrease in value.

Stupid, Mike Baldwin shows a 6,000% return in one day.

I didn't short it I just bought it a while back... Im reallllyyy hoping its gonna let me sell at open tomorrow

Run the short game in penny stocks. For a game its fine but the trade costs, and fund restrictions it will kill any profit in real life. Also assume that any shorting (keeping stock less then a year?) will get taxed heavily under capital gains (20%).

Fuck the market put all your money into cats.

Property developing is the way forward at the moment with the economy the way that it is (in the UK)

Thanks for the advice, Andy!

This died off quickly. I logged in today and was surprised to see I jumped up to 5th place. Anyone going in on GoPro? I bought some cause this isn't my real money. Also, I still don't understand how first place, Mike Baldwin, has over $6M in returns.

there was a glitch with Apple stock that gave a billion percent returns or something that was never corrected

Riding the GoPro IPO took me from mid 40th place to top 5. And the Apple glitch is wack lol.

Took me to #2 from #11. Im happy about it. Where you think its gonna crash or at all? I actually own it in my real portfolio, trying to figure that out.

I would either sell ASAP or hold for a longer period (> 1 year). There are two viewpoints in my mind:

1) The initial rise in price is pure speculation and will come back down shortly.

2) The price it is at is a realistic valuation of the share price and will rise with the performance of the company. I see GoPro's business booming in the coming years as a result of increased capital from this IPO.

If it was my money I would hold for at least a year and see where it is at. That is obviously assuming nothing big happens in the next year.

My plan is if it gets up to around 46.50-47.00 I will get out.

been trying to figure this one out myself, as I also have it in my own portfolio. Good jump back up today. The way I see it is there aren't too many huge competitors and it's such a consumer brand I just dont' see it going anywhere. I think it's a fairly safe investment with a chance to make some actual money. I'm thinking it'll either stay pretty even at the prices for the next year or so, but I'm really hoping 5-10 years down the line they're going for 90/share+

I think it's a safe investment but I'm not sure about growth. What do you see for the future product line?

And it's really sick some of you guys have real portfolios. I'm still trying to learn the ins and outs before I put my money on the line. Go pro has been my only real success haha. Any materials you guys recommend reading to learn how to trade better etc?

Back into GPRO at 40.5, then it flew away. TERP up 33%... IPOs FTW.

Ended up selling out of GoPro IRL at 69.97. IMO, really good sell.

I was in 3rd for the game here, tried to short BABA at 97-95. Went to lunch, apparently there was a 15 min delay on the order. So it shorted me at the IPO price... I shorted BABA at 68. And there goes my shot at winning. Fucking game glitched me to failure.
