The dangers of short selling against the grain.... tough to predict a stock popping from $13 to $19 on no news
13021871:MLJ said:What the hell, I just got like 500,000$ for no apparent reason. Not complaining or anything, but its really weird cause it doesnt seem to show up in the rankings, but on my portfolio it says I have 500k
13023512:theBearJew said:You holding Apple? I looked at some of the portfolios of those who got a huge bump, all have AAPL
13023577:MLJ said:Ya it was cause the simulator fucked up with the 7/1 stock split. 2nd place and the people who were likely to win are faaaar behond now. Pretty stoked i wemt aapl now.
13023648:theBearJew said:Yea, the leader is at like 6 Mill. Hopefully they make a correction to it.
13023744:MLJ said:They corrected it for me, but the leader has tooons of $$$. fukdat
13024310:jensen said:You guys who went up a ton on apple, did you short it over the 7 to 1 stock split? I am thinking if you did there was a glitch in the game that gave you 7 times more shares without recognizing the decrease in value.
Stupid, Mike Baldwin shows a 6,000% return in one day.

Fuck the market put all your money into cats.

13053276:.vLee said:Riding the GoPro IPO took me from mid 40th place to top 5. And the Apple glitch is wack lol.
13053312:theBearJew said:Took me to #2 from #11. Im happy about it. Where you think its gonna crash or at all? I actually own it in my real portfolio, trying to figure that out.
13053323:jensen said:I would either sell ASAP or hold for a longer period (> 1 year). There are two viewpoints in my mind:
1) The initial rise in price is pure speculation and will come back down shortly.
2) The price it is at is a realistic valuation of the share price and will rise with the performance of the company. I see GoPro's business booming in the coming years as a result of increased capital from this IPO.
If it was my money I would hold for at least a year and see where it is at. That is obviously assuming nothing big happens in the next year.

13053340:SourSteezle said:been trying to figure this one out myself, as I also have it in my own portfolio. Good jump back up today. The way I see it is there aren't too many huge competitors and it's such a consumer brand I just dont' see it going anywhere. I think it's a fairly safe investment with a chance to make some actual money. I'm thinking it'll either stay pretty even at the prices for the next year or so, but I'm really hoping 5-10 years down the line they're going for 90/share+
13063612:theBearJew said:Back into GPRO at 40.5, then it flew away. TERP up 33%... IPOs FTW.
