NS showing to faces when dealing with JO dub

How come in every single other discussion 90% of the people on here are hating so much on doubles, spin to win, lame big airs, hucking with safety grabs and so on and so on.

Now, then all of a sudden, Jon Olsson does a "new" (not so certain of that just yet, looks like a sw dub cork to me) dub, and people are going apeshit about how great and unimaginably awesome it is.

Not saying that I don´t love the guys cuz I do, and we wouldn´t be where we are today without him, I´m just generally hating on the "dub flip over steez" thing, and I thought I had a lot of you guys with me.

That would be all, thank you.

It seems like all your posts are trying to start flame wars....you posted something incredibly negative in the other thread and got flamed for it. Boo hoo, life goes on.

I'm split about dubs most of the time, but whenever somethign new, innovative, and sick comes out.. well that gets me stoked!

90% of people do not hate on doubles. I think you are confusing doubles with triples. Doubles are here to stay, and everyone accepts that. Most agree that slow, floaty spins are ALSO nice to watch.

No one is going 'apeshit'. People are giving respect where resepct is due. If you did the same trick, people would give exactly the same congratulations to you.

Jon's dub was not 'spin to win', or 'hucked'; it was stylish, well-executed, and nicely landed.

To conclude, we are not 'with you' when you needlessly call out talented pros who have done a lot for the sport.

THAT will be all, thank YOU

^^ jep, go cry about it; no matter how much you hate doubles; that's where it's at in current competititions and massive props to jon for atleast standing somewhat out with a "new" double ...
believe me, i'd much rather see comps going down in pollard-style; huge laid out spins, late 180s, shifties and stuff...
but anyways; its probably fairer to judge on "spin to win" then to judge on style...

because it is a new dub and he stomped the shit out of it. it didnt look like any dub ive seen yet. and it wasnt hucked at all.

^^by spin to win, i mean that you arent gonna win with a laid out 7 or a slow n steezy flip.these days pro athletes gotta step up in competitions if they want to score....

You guys seriously need to start reading.

Am I specifically hating on Jons dub in this post? No.

Am I criticizing a growing phenomenon within our sport? Yes.

Is that a valid claim that´s needless to act like 5 year olds about? Yes.

Am I crying? Well, yes, if that has become a synonym of criticism.

Are we in 2003 again when doubles were super hucked?

I don't think you realize that most doubles are steezy as fuck and no matter what you think they are going to stay. But people are still throwing super steezy tricks (such as Wallisch's layed out cork 5)...You don't see people hucking doubles off of little 10 foot jumps.

Oh and stop QQing and hating.

"100% retarded, not at all steezy, plus its a switch cork 5 to a kinda unusal cork 7.

Go progress in skiracing Jon, thanks for all you´ve done for the sport, but this is just wrong and plain silly."-YOU
I am starting to kind of like how you can't edit posts, so now that people are hating on you for stupid ass comment you make another thread about it.

If I watch a big air contest these days I see a bunch of skiers spinning and flipping in such a matter that it's hard to tell what they are doing before seeing it in slow motion, and they all do the same two or three grabs. Watching a double, like anything other thing that's really extreme or sick, is fun, but not over, and over, and over, and over.

I don´t know bout you but I could watch an entire ski movie with noting but 5´s and 7´s, but try imagining the same with doubles. Not for me.

I do see what you're saying dude, but the fact of the matter is dubs are not going anywhere and that is why this is so important. Now that EVERYONE is doing kangs left and right, Jon has thrown another curveball and done it flawlessly (even though we'll only see him get better at it as time goes on). This is the level of competition that the sport needs in the comps. I also prefer the Nimbus crew as far as style goes, but there's a reason why they don't enter the comps anymore, and it isnt bad reason, it's just style differences. The only place I wish dubs would be retired is the pipe, other than that (slopestyle and big air), I feel like any progression is good progression. Especially when it's this smooth.

The only thing I'm dreading is hearing Mike Douglas talk about "The Tornado" the entire event...

i hate every one of you "steeze only" people. you are holding back the sport.

when people first started doing 7's, they sure as fuck werent steezy, i suppose we should have just stuck to huntoney straight airs and kept shit "steezy" back then.

anyone who doesnt think jons dub was steezy is quite clearly blind. it was flawless. controlled, grabbed, and stomped clean.

I don't think were dealing with the brightest guy on NS here guys. Maybe caps lock will clear things up for him...
YOU ARE A TROLL, WE DONT LIKE YOU

his new dub is fucking sick, anyone talking shit can eat a dick. Although i'm really not a fan of naming tricks other than what they actually are.. its a switch dub 12 either way.
