NS movie Vol 2????

Well thanks for reminding me. I hadn't heard anything either. Actually I don't think I've seen Dave on here for a long time either... I wonder if it's still happening. It would be sick if it was.

I was thinking about this the other day actually. Haven't heard anything. could also see it not happening, but, you know... I'm not too worried about it

of course clown school edits, those are some of the sickest edits. but doesn't mean he isn't an bloated asshole

The whole idea just doesn't work for me. Have people make edits, post them online, then reedit the edits into a movie? Having people see the footage before it goes into the movie just ruins the whole point of a movie, especially when people are like voting and watching the videos alot to see what they like.

the ns movie is an awesome idea and has major amounts of potential, but I think the legistics and everything really really hold it back, vol.1 didn't live up to the hype, imo

well, to someone who does not get a chance to film with a film crew, it is a cool idea to put am's in a movie. Sure it may be less in the sense of a 'tradtional' movie, because the film has allready been seen. however, trailers are just a smaller version of the same deal. and mosseau, if someone is willing to edit/cordinate than there is no way why it should not happen.
and no, this is not be being stoked on this because i want to get into vol 2. thats not happing. this is me being stoked because NS has made skiiers before and this just seems like a great way to broaden our community.

Exactly, no one is going to want to do that. I'm surprised dave even did last year. It would be a waste of money to pay someone to do it, a movie is unnecessary when there is a whole section of the website dedicated to videos, if you wanna see dope ams and shit go there. IMO it shouldn't happen, but if someone really wanted to without getting paid or anything then word, but I would be very surprised if it happened.

i agree that its dead in sense of recapping events cuz duh everyone wants to see right after or while the event is happening, showing so everyones x games slope run in their segments is now boring and dead.. but urban, backcountry and park shoots is whats being done because we know its going on, but don't know what went down so thats where suspense is.

The way the movie was done last year didn't really work for me,. I think for a good NS movie, NS would need all original footage. Have an early season contest where people post edits and get voted for. Have the top 6 or something get put onto a road trip where they travel around and film while meeting up with bigger name pros who are willing to cooperate. That'd be the perfect NS movie imo

That would be really sick. Or if the roadtrip idea is too far out of reach, they could just film new edits during the season once they won the 'qualifiers'.

I would be pumped for this.. I think it does have an important place since it gives the chance to some people who otherwize wouldnt have the chance, to be featured in a film

I can completely see where you are coming from and I agree with it but in reality, for that to work everything would need to be free. Edits are 8 minute long videos that are people skiing in a terrrain in which you only need a lift ticket. If edits continued to be free and movies stopped being made there would be no more cat skiing trips or parkshoots. There would be no money in flow to keep the edits being made and people would eventually tire of forking out their own money. I mean you could get sponsors to donate money for edits but I donno why it wouldn't work but something is telling me in my head that it wouldn't. But eventually it would just branch off and ski companies would start making team edits and there would be 4 companies that wanted to film a rider and 4 different companies that wanted to film another rider and there would be no original jumps or cool features being built cause they'd all be in 4 different edits. The only way I could see it wporking if you payed a yearly subscription fee to the film company and they produced and edit every month and emailed it to everyone who subscribed, But that would just take out of the whole anticipation of waiting to see all the innovative tricks at the end of the year.
That is just my 2 cents though. I apologize if some of it doesn.t make sense.
