WTF ns??? my hilarious post got deleted in that thread about the gays, wtf?

Everyone is wondering why ns is so boring and getting old now, it's because everyone is softies and doesn't appreciate good humor.

Because NS has an image they'd like to show the new user. I remember earlier this week on some super political forum some dude was like "damn I thought NS was a cool site now I see it's just a shitstorm" or something along the lines of that, and so he left. You'll eventually grow out of posting shit online and when that happens there will be no newer members to carry on NS and NS will die out.

The only thing our generation should be offended by is the shear number of hurt feeling reports filed on a daily basis.

Worse is real life human interaction, I've seen so many people crying at work after they get a "stern" talking to by their boss or something that they just have to get up and leave work.

I coach a 18u baseball team. I have two black players on the team, I'm afraid every time I switch them out for a white kid or don't start them I'm going to get labeled as a "racist."

Same baseball team last year, we got trophies for 5th place.............5th place. In an 8 team playoff.

This. Everyone gets a trophy today. When my sister graduated from high school, there were these two twin brothers who would have been valedictorian and salutatorian. They gave a co-valedictorian award when their grades were obviously different. Wouldn't want to hurt their feelings or anything.
 
it's an internet forum. people will always make fun of the 'new members.' and if you can't deal with being called a noob in a few threads, then the internet just really isn't for you. NS used to be a great community where everyone went through that same 'hazing' (for lack of a better word) process and came out on the other side a contributing member of the community
 
I personally don't care what anyone posts. If I want to fuck around with dank memes and internet humor, I'll find a thread where that's going on. And if I'm looking for a legit discussion and the thread is just a giant troll circle jerk, I won't participate or ignore the obvious troll posts. It really is as simple as that.

However, I do sympathize with the mods to some extent in regards to deleting content that is over the top offensive, because at the end of the day, NS needs advertising to keep going and nobody in the ski industry is going to advertise on a site that is dominated by bigotry and sexual harassment.
