NS i need legal help

Hey NS... Im in a bind and need your legitimate legal help... yikesso my friends and I are driving through bennington vt two weeks ago and my friend decides to push the gas and we get clocked by some police officer going the other way (85 in a 55) but long story short the cop gets permission to search the car and I have to admit to a baggie with a sand grain size of weed in it. Now im here with a court date and need to know what comes next.. I know that I can bite the bullet and plea guilty and take the up to 500$ fine but how do I then get this off my record.. Im not planning on telling my parents but if I need to hire a lawyer I will need to tell them.. Is there anyone on NS whos had a similar problem to mine and what happens?? please NS help me out

why would you ever let him search the car, cops can't fucking radar you if they are going the other direction...did you ask to see the gun?

And why the fuck would you admit to anything? Get a lawyer and tell your parents, you are probably fucked:)

Never consent to searches. It doesnt matter if they say anything that vaguely sounds like they have the right to. thats usually bullshit. If a cop has probable cause he isnt going to ask and is just going to go ahead and search anyway.
 
Why did your friend give permission to search the car? Tell your friends not to be retarded.

Why were you rolling around with a baggie with a sand grain of weed in it? What's the point of having a bag with out enough weed to smoke, but enough weed for a possession ticket?

If you are in college and have financial aid you might need to fight get a lawyer and fight it.

Take a deep breathe though. As shitty as it is in the grand scheme of life a possession ticket for a ridiculously small amount of weed is not a big deal and will not ruin your life.

Your friend is an idiot though. I can't stand people who drive recklessly, then giving the cop permission to search? What a douche, I'd get a new friend.

u guys must be really retarded to let the cop search your car. And if your going to speed why would u speed going 85 but your gas on the pedal and go 120 hah sike... no get a lawyer.
 
Depends if Vermont treats it as an infraction or a misdemeanor. In California as long as it's a low quantity, it basically amounts to a speeding ticket. And for a sand-sized piece most officers would just throw the bag away.
