NS Fruitbooters? Help a noob find some skates.

hey guys, lately I have been very interested in picking up my own set of skates. I'm decent at fruitbootin'. I can do some basic grinds, 3s off jumps, etc etc. I have a pair of non-agressive rollerblades, and I occasionally borrow my friend's skates. I want a set that's not ridiculously expensive, but still good. I'm definitely a noob with all of this, so i would appreciate some suggestions! These will definitely mainly be used for rails and jumps.

If you need any more info about my ability and stuff, feel free to ask.

Thanks NS!

PS: i wasn't sure if this should go in Gear Talk or NSG; mods, feel free to move it to GT if necessary.

I don't really seriously fruitboot coz I suck but Xjasado or Valo would be a good fit for you. They're a little bit on the expensive side so probably just a pair of Salomon's would do the job until you get a little better.

thanks for the quick responses.

i would prefer something around an 8-8.5, but if nothing, well priced, is available then i'm sure i could squeeze into a 7. The blades Big_Spence posted look sick...I might just pick those up, if I can't find anything else similar in an 8.

keep the responses coming!

if your shoe size is an 8, i would purchase a 7.

i always buy things like skates and ski boots smaller vs. larger.

Be careful with getting those Valos. If you have a wide foot, you're going to have to (most likely) cut the toes in them. So sizing down with a combo of a wide foot might fuck you over with those. It might just be toooo tight of a fit.

thanks for the response. i have a pretty skinny foot, so fortunately, that won't be a problem.

@asian_allen: i checked those out, those seem nice too, and they're similarly priced.

so what do you guys think:

Remz OS or the Valos

thanks, and i'm definitely still open to more suggestions.

I'd say remz, just because I know a bunch of really serious lolerbladers and they're all on remz and they tell me they're whats up ( and they don't all skate for remz so it's not too biased). I'm planning on picking myself up a pair really soon too!

i'd get a pair of razors or k2's.

i used to have a pair of k2 fattys but switched to deshi ch1's.

the genesys is a great skate, it's decently priced and you'll really enjoy it.

and i have to disagree with spencer, i buy true or half size up from my shoe size.

thanks a lot guys. it seems right now, i'm leaning towards the Valos, but i'm probably not ordering till tomorrow. so keep up the responses please!

i ride xsjados now and before i had some TRS (which i disliked. xsjados feel like heaven compared to them). i can say whatever you do dont buy your skates too big. once i put on skates that actually fit i felt like i got twice as good in one day.

fuck xsjados and fuck valos. I currently ride the high end razors and their the shit, remz are great too - little heavy though... and from what i hear USD is pretty solid as well. its all preference really.

I was in ur position a few weeks ago and got the remz os. So far I really like them. They have broken in well, and overall seem really well built. For learning the introductory soul grinds they have worked well for me. For a beginner skater i would reccomend them.

I was in the same position as you, if you have a local Play it Again or like used sports equipment store hit up there, i got a nice pair of ROLLERBLADE boots for $50, been riding them for a couple months now and love em

razor genesis skates. perfect skates for any level skater, they will not let a new blader down.

and to this day i have not met someone who has not liked the gen skate.

razor cult 9s are what i have, they go for only 150 bucks on amall. cult bs are 120 adn still good. if under 200 is your price range, go razor or TRS. TRS's can get a bit pricey though and razors more bang for your buck. if you want to spend under 300 go valo,

i would go with the remz os, i have a pair and they are super light, and they come stock with really nice jug liners, and i hear those valos are super heavy and what not

Get razors cult bs. I just got some off neglected truth for 121 including taxes and shipping. They work great, and as far as I can tell, they are the same as the other cults (actually lighter) which sell for around 150.
