NS Forever

I’ve been on NS for about a year and a half now but I just actually got into it and it just really hit me how crazy it is that NS is still here. To my knowledge there aren’t many forums that are dedicated to something as niche as skiing and have the longevity that NS has had. It’s kinda crazy and I just thought y’all might enjoy sharing In my impressed awe of the NS community

NewSchoolers is niche, but have you been to an ancient automotive forum trying to source a problem on your car? God damn those go deep.

I've belonged to a few, some big popular ones like the old cobb tuning forum or r3vlimited some much more niche like vwdiesel.net focused primarily in old IDI diesel vw's and the like. Almost always filled with helpful people though sometimes days or weeks would pass before the right person with the key bits of knowledge stumbled upon your inquiry.

The NS community is a family, every time I hop on I always recognize most the people in any popular forum. The only reason our community is still going is that we all share the same love, skiing (or snowboarding)!

Some of those are still active too. I posted a build thread on the E30 forums (r3vlimited) in like 2018 I think.

r3vlimited, the bimmerforums, and e46fanatics go so hard and have saved my life multiple times

Yeah haha I have an E46 too, that's my snow car (325xi touring.. MT)

Forums saved my ass on everything from regular maintenance to building a stroker motor that has only been done a small handful of times.

dayummmmm nice, between this and actually giving away your skis you went from worst dude on NS to best dude on NS in my book (had us all fooled in the first half)

Came from a subaru as my snow car (06 outback XT) and have precisely 0 regrets moving to the wagon. Such a beast, way more reliable, comfortable and fun to drive. I've got blizzaks on my other wheels for winter and I've never gotten stuck in the snow. The turbo in the outback can fucking suck it, both the only thing it had going for it and also the most annoying thing about it. More fun to rev out the bimmer anyways.

Lmk if you ever need E30 or E46 advice, or even E30 parts. I know way too much about these cars lol

Forums are one of the great developments of the internet. Timeless information, able to be updated, shared and discussed in a convenient and low bandwidth platform. I've been on NS since like 08-09 and am a part of a few niche car forums as well. Can't even begin to tell you how much I've learned, how much enjoyment I've gotten and how many people I've connected with because of it.

Is your E30 lifted? It may just be the angle of the photo but damn, you need some suspension and wheels on that thing asap!

Nah that's definitely stock, mine for comparison is lowered on ground control coilovers but set at a reasonable height.

Personally I'd do H&R sports and konis on an E30 at a minimum, and 15" wheels. I'd go for the OEM 15" weaves except these days people want over $1k for a set of semi decent ones. vs you can get a set of new Ronal LS's for cheaper and they look a little nicer with a fatter lip-

This low key turned into a car show and I am so for it. God I love this website

Haha true, doesn't take much to make an E30 look nice as hell. To be clear that red one is just lowered on Ronals but otherwise identical to [tag=226027]@grantlewis_dntm[/tag] 's car, mine went through a much bigger transformation...

Nice hennarot. I had an '86 eta chipped and lightly modded, more rat style though. That was a while ago though. Good cars.

Damn! Did you do the dash swap yourself? Love the M-tech wheel, and those sports seats look great. Im thoroughly jealous.

stock suspension, on stock 14" bottle caps. probably looks tall because you can't see the tires. I want to drop it a little and get 15's on it, but basketweaves are hard to come by these days in 15"

Thanks. Did nearly everything on this car myself! Including those sport seats. I started with some beat up M3 sport seats (not really that different than regular sport seats), got new seat shocks, some sections of new foam and a new upholstery kit. I chose that pattern of tweed for the centers. Bolsters are leather.

Very true. That's why I was saying- look into the Ronal LS. Perfect fitment, stock look but with a slightly more aggressive lip. I think set of 4 brand new is $800ish. So it's not cheap but they are quality wheels.

Lol i belong to some hunting and gun forms. They’ve been incredibly helpful for me, i brows a few truck ones working on my current rig.

Any hunting forums that are top tier? I’m a duck hunter as well and would love a similar community for that pursuit as well! Such a weird combo skiing and duck hunting but ehh

I just got into duck hunting, so not sure about specific duck sites, but Randy Newburg's hunttalk.com is a great one. They have specific forums for most NA game.

Because I just got vishnus and I’m still on the high horse. Lol honestly I want to try them, just don’t have the capital right now. Plus Vishnu’s are like half the price and double the steeze
