I've been looking for a new rod and reel setup for this spring and summer and I cant make up my mind what I want. I usually fish on a pretty good sized private lake near mountain creek with only electric motor boats. I wanna keep the price of the reel at $80 or less, but dont want junk. I've picked out a few from bass pro shops:http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&partNumber=10200656 - Doug Hannon Wavespin. sounds like a good idea but idk if i wanna drop 80 on a company I've never heard of

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&partNumber=96661 - cant beat this daiwa at $50

http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&partNumber=91206 - another daiwa

Help me pick!! I'm open to other suggestions too. thanks

I'm glad I can inspire some inspiration haha
but yea i love the design of the wavespin, I just dont want to end up buying it and have it break on me cuz its bad quality. I know daiwa, pflueger, and quantum all make awesome reels but idk bout this new company. you think i should just go for it based on the design?

Go with the Diawas, if your thinking about maybe a spincast, then go for the Diawa Goldcast III. Its one of the best out there and pretty much bombproof.

not spincast dude, i want spinning. but should I go with well known quality? or try that new wavespin reel (the first one). It seems really innovative and won some awards and shit, but idk how long its gonna last me

my uncle has the quantum energy. it has the smoothest reeling motion every. it withstood takiing a 20 minute beating with a 40lb. salmon. its a really good reel. also the 3rd quantum is good. i personally have that one.

looks legit to me

yea definitely, ive only heard good things about them and my buddy has one and loves it. but idk i just dont see anything really special about them, you know? like where most similarly priced reels mite have like 8, 9, or 10 bearings, a shimano mite only have like 4. I know bearings arent everything, but i just dont see anything real special about them

Quantum will last you the longest and is probably the smoothest with th most quality!

Do you fish enough for the price to be worth it? I mean you wont have to buy another eel for a real long time..... you pay for what you get! There all pretty good!

yea I do actually. I go up to my friends lake house almost every weekend in the summer and I live next to a resivor so I fish there all the time during the week too. So thats why I'm trying to finally invest in a good quality reel. I've gone through too many crappy ones

yeah i have it and its so smooth and pretty cheap. as far as rods go get a st. croix for performance, ugly stick if u want it to last forever, and dont want to spend much
