so i was just reading this and thought "oh NO, not 4 more years of this....
this being when ever the media says something that contridicts what the "great one" has done it is automatically RACIST....
i will agree though that the political cartoon is somewhat racist, but it happens to every president....
just wanted to see what NS thinks....

that was just an "oops" situationthey might not have made the connection that black people are compared to monkeys especially obama with is ears. it's very easy to interpret that as being racist if you look a little deeper into it which is what most new yorker/new york post cartoons require you to do. all of us have done things that we didn't make the connection between and had other people call us out thinking we had the intention of being offensive. we'll never know if they were trying to be racist or just saying that the stimulus bill was poorly written but it's not like if i say "obama sucks" (he doesn't) people will call me racist

I knew this exact thing was going to happen when dumbdick over here got elected president. Any comment of image that could possibly be interpreted as racist was going to be blown out of proportion. Black people need to man up and stop being such bitches about everything. God damn... You want equality, then act like white people would if a black person drew a "racist" cartoon.

Also on the subject of Blacks and Equality, why do we have things like Black History Month?

I think shit like that is just making this modern day "segregation" stronger. Like college admittance. Keeping a quota of 10% black kids, that's NOT equality. Equality is not even having to check a box for what race you are. That way the best kid gets it. Regardless of race.

You don't see me out rallying or boycotting newspapers whenever someone makes a political cartoon about Bush being a hick. I've learned to just be above it. I think that African Americans(PC) are almost trying to keep the segregation alive. There getting benefits in some cases. This, Is NOT equality, no matter how much you try to sugar coat it.

I'm not a racist. Just so thats on the table.

Ok, I'm using these specific people. The people that freak out over everything, call everyone racist, and protest at any chance. I do NOT mean the entire black community. Sorry if it came across that way, however it is a growing majority.

So what you are saying here is that this white kid who can't study or take an SAT prep course with a job at 14 will lose to a black kid who can't study or take a prep course with a job at 14 when it comes time for college admittance? Lets say they both study, take the sat, and apply for the same college. If they do exactly the same, the black kid gets it? How does that fix any idea of equality?

With your definition I wouldn't call this cartoon racist. But I wouldn't use your definition to define racism.
But you are absolutely correct there is no way in hell nobody realized how that cartoon could come across and it was bad taste to run it.
I don't know how you can be so absolute and such a raging prick about AA. This is a debate this will go on as long as there is AA, and there are plenty of black people who disagree with it and think it prolongs racism and segregation. But of course drew.'s moral compass points true north and the rest of us can only aspire to be so damn perfect, until then we are ignorant retards.

I find the hole thing ironic. The New York post is one of the most liberal papers on the planet. the fact that the editors are so non racist that they don't make the connection between a monkey and black man, while those who are supposedly fighting for equality make a big stink and bring the cartoon more attention. Giving a good chuckle to all those who do find it funny and think along those lines. its just to much not to laugh at

I 100% agree that black are not ready for equality. 40% of black males in Miami have committed felonies. Look at all the 18 year old black women who have kids. Look in America's jail system. Do you really think black people get arrested just because they're black? NO! A large percentage of black people do not act like normal people should!!

Also, people say Obama becoming president showed race isn't a big deal. If that's true, then why do you have to keep mentioning he's black. It shouldn't matter! He should be the president and it shouldn't matter what color his skin is. Black people try to preach equality but they consistently separate themselves. Affirmative action- if you want to be equal, get into a school because of your grades, not your fucking skin color. Affirmative action is appauling.
