North Carolina skiers?

Hey guys, my dad got a job with Google in Lenoir, NC and my family and I are gonna have to move down there. Just wondering if there are any mountains around there and what they're like or if any of you are from that area or just anything about that area I should know. Thanks!

Like everyone said, App Ski Mtn is the best. Blowing rock has bomb food too. not sure how many NSers are carolinians though

My boi speaks the truth, cataloochee is my home mountain and it has some decent terrain, the park could put out some decent features, but ya app is the best for park but the mountain is TINY.

Ya the vertical is miserable, But OP if you want park i would say go to Ski beech or APP, But if you are going to ride all mountain go to sugar or cataloochee(beech has some good terrain but the lines are horrendous)

And P.S: Cataloochee will be the first one open out of all the resorts, we opened on halloween last year, they have one of the best snow making systems of the east coast even!!!

Actually though, I have heard small mountains referred to as hills before but App is no more than 200 ft vert if that.

I used to live there. Little web series I put together my last year there.

IllBillies WEBisode 1(and only?) from Charlie Jonas on Vimeo.

ILLbillies webisode II from App Terrain Park on Vimeo.

ILLbillies WEBisode III: GTS or GTFO from Charlie Jonas on Vimeo.

Also check out t-sin for some dope edits more recent.

Season goes from Thanksgiving through March, weather permitting.

Like everyone said APP is the best. Not as good as it used to be but still the best around. Im from Lenoir actually. Its a 25 min drive to app. Sugar is a little further, probably 45 mins, no park, just longer steeper runs. Beech is the highest in NC and they have a decent park and its getting better. Its about 1hr from Lenoir. All are great mountains especially for NC. The season like stated is weather permitting. We can get bigs snows but also we get big warm spells as well. What makes app so good besides the park, is the snowmaking. They can LAY IT DOWN when it gets cold and in a small time frame as well. Any other questions just ask.

I was at beech a few years ago and it wasn't bad. Haven't been to APP but when I was at beech I noticed a ton of runaway boards. Watch out for that. I'm pretty sure they have a leash law in NC but it doesn't seem to help.

Like everyone said App is the best for park.

I go to Appalachian State so that's where I will be riding all year. There are a handful of NSer's here.

ATP is the way to go NC has got a lot of potential, we have a lot of good riders coming up now and one who already made it, Charlie Owens of Stept Productions, who is a rider from app

plus i gotta say google is a very awesome company, alot of good products come from google
