Normal ski for rails? lol

So I have two pairs of skis, one park(center mounted) and one racing ski (default normal mounted) and I have a summer setup. I love my park skis (because I mainly ride park now) so my race skis are just laying there. My question is, what are your thoughts on me using my race skis for practicing my rail game in the summer?

(Keep in mind that I dont really care about my racing skis now since theyre old and i dont use them anymore)

when i first learned rails i used race skis cus thats all i had. i wasnt a racer, thats just all i had. so i decided to try and hit rails and it was actually harder to do than with your normal center mounted park sticks. definitely do able but just being mounted so far back i always found myself having to lean back to balance the race skis on the rail and lock on. so op, i would just use your park sticks because thats what your normally going to be skiing on.

You can def ride with race skis, but once you slide a rail with them, the edges are going to be permenantly ruined.

It will be sub optimal at best. Trying to do switch ups and surface swaps is going to be a bitch if you're not close to center mounted or center mounted.

idk man I feel like when I ride park skis I have that additional weight behind my ankle that adds up to the weight in the front of me, thus giving me a better center of gravity which I can base my motions off of. take from that, you might feel the same...idk.

Honestly it won't make a huge world of difference using your race skis. The park skis are optimal, but the race skis will do fine

I wouldnt ruin a pair of race skis like that. Find a cheap-ass pair or park skis in the BST forums and use those. I know you dont think you will now, but one day you might want to get back into racing or just take a rip on some good-carving skis.
