you know one thing i hate. maybe i'm being an asshole about this, but bear with me. I hate it when people ask for stuff, but put no time into actually working. I spent 2 years in a shop, worked with numerous reps, and got to know people on the inside after putting in my time. if you want freebies or pro-forms, work for them.

Uh yeah, I have an in on Dynastar already, but i'm just looking for someone with one on NORDICA, don't assume so much bud.

i have ins with atomic and a couple other companies and i never help out anyone!

IF YOU GET CAUGHT GETTING GEAR FOR OTHERS YOU'LL PROBABLY LOSE YOUR DEAL! I LOST MINE WITH SALOMON 2 YEARS AGO BECAUSE OF IT!

Sayin the same thing as the dude above me:

I have worked in this industry to develop a spotless reputation with my product representatives. The pro form explicitly says that you are only to purchase items for personal use. You are supposed to own what you have for a year before you sell it. Buying stuff and then selling it is simply cutting into the companies, and ultimately, your shop's profits.

sorry for soapboxing, but this is really a touchy area for me

i have an in on everything...

''Your true colors are showing through, Erich...pink...lots and lots of pink.''

an in=knowing a rep/someone else with a company and getting a deal

Pro Form= CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP way of buying gear usually straight from companies/through the rep. It makes skiing affordable, but only certain people get pro form. Shop employees and people that WORK to get it.

Did I miss anything in those definitions?

'i'm not too bright sometimes, when i turn my mind off school'

not like is tough to get good deals or free shit in this industry anyway. next time you see a rep at a demo day, just ask if you can shlep stuff around for him and more then likly he will give you a profrom. this is my 4th season working in a respected shop and i get deals out the wazoo. but thats just it, I GET DEALS. Its not that i dont want to hook up everyone and anyone that i meet, but in turn if i did do that then i could loose my privliges of free skis and such. so my advise, just work part time at a ski shop. I started as the guy in the shop that would punch in after skiing every day, tune up the demos and take the garbage out. now ive moved up. you gotta start somewhere. another nice thing about working in a ski shop is that you learn usefull information like how to tune skis and such. anyway, any more questions post them up.

Perhaps he was talking about the boots?

It's quite annoying to have two separate product lines with the same name.

They're expensive because most of 'em come with the Synergy binding system. I've heard they freakin rule, but I haven't demoed at all.

their boots are the most comfortable boots i've ever been in, and their skis, well, let's just say the rep told me to stay away from their new school ski's. BUT, their race skis are KILLER. as for the beast skis, haven't been on them, so i'm not going to say anything aboot them.
