Nordica has killed the Patron and replaced it with a two sheets of titanium over the edges in the newly introduced Enforcer 110.

why is there a trend to kill twin tip fat skis?

It's basically a patron with a better rocker profile. Nordica is catering to their market.

The original Enforcer was a very popular ski, and now they're building a whole line off it (93 from last year, 110 and Pro for next). The market for twin tip pow skis is a lot smaller than the market for people that want stable all mountain skis. Also, if you take a look at the rocker profile, the 110 actually looks like it could be a lot of fun, just a bit more directional.

Now they are going to have the enforcer 93, 100, and 110. Basically its just going to be a more directional Patron with added metal. Its more than likely gonna be less playful but a little bit more of a charger. Think of the 93 and 100 as being more "turny" and rockered versions of the Volkl Kendo and Mantra.

Not very impressed either. I am still not happy with them getting rid of the Patron boots. I'm going to hold on to them until they break...

exactly my point. adding metal makes it more of a charger than playful. i picked up the soul rider for this season and love no metal in that. Was thinking of getting the patron next year as a wider version but they got rid of it.

With the change of the badmind to the soul rider 84, i thought they would have just renamed the patron Soul Rider 113.

Blister had a quick write up on the differences, they are pretty stoked on the change.

"In short, the Enforcer 110 replaces the Nordica Patron. And we’re psyched about this.

While the Patron is a good ski in many ways, it had one of the oddest tips we have ever seen on a ski — we called it “The Spear,” or “The Pancake,” because it’s the only ski we’ve ever reviewed where you could take your ski pole and pancake the tip completely flat to the snow. So when that tip got undulating at speed in bumped-up terrain, that pancake could turn into a spear, and … you get the idea."

Good. The patron wasn't that popular of a ski really..and it needed an update.

Twin powder skis are gunna fade. People are starting to realize that they aren't as good all around as some other designs....and the market is shifting. The twin powder ski is still gunna be a thing...but you can charge harder and get better variable snow performance with a bit of a tail

It was probably one of the most popular East Coast powder skis. It was a hard charging ski with a short turning radius for the uber tight trees around here. Mine will forever be my favorite skis, ever.
