Nordica Enforcer 104 Free

Has anyone had a chance to ride these yet? Please give me all the details of what you all think.

6.2.5

Own a pair and have about 10 days on them last Spring when they first came out. Bought them off the rave reviews on Ski Essentials and Blistergear.

Started last year with Sir Francis Bacons that were sold to a buddy after 3 runs-too light and too soft for my liking. Then had Moment PB&Js which are good in softer snow but float wasn’t great in powder and not the greatest in hard snow. Came back from a trip out West using the PB&Js and got the Enforcer 104s.

I’m 6’2”/175 and ski the 186cm with the mount +2 to make them more playful. The skis are a revelation! Can charge crud, carve firm groomers like a much narrower ski at 60mph effortlessly yet a blast in trees/bumps at slower speeds and very good float for their width. Not a light ski but don’t ski heavy at all and that weight just helps with stability and in when things get bumpy. Stable in the air is very good too with the mount moved up. Not really a “park ski” so the only weakness would be it’s not really meant for skiing rails as it just has traditional edges and race bases.

Most other twin tips that are this easy to ski don’t usually have such high all mountain performance. I can use them daily in the East Coast or West Coast. Does everything well in all conditions. The only ski similar to it’s “groomer/all mountain” performance would be the Fisher Ranger 102FR but the Fisher is stiffer so not as forgiving or as fun in bumps and it’s lighter than the E104 so not as good through crud.

Nice!!! Thanks a lot for this detailed review. I myself am 6'3" 210 and ski essentials told me I should stick with the 186 as well. Where did you ski out west? I'm close to Tahoe area and itching for Squaw and Mammoth to open.

Whistler, Fernie and Lake Louise/Sunshine the last 3 years. Have the Ikon pass this year so might do a month in Utah this March. Will eventually get to Mammoth/Squaw etc as they are on Ikon too but maybe next year.

I've heard they're sick, I really want to pick up a pair for this winter too. I reckon they'd be a good part of my quiver with my Billy Goats.

Any updates after riding the 104 frees? I'm close to pulling the trigger on a pair. I'm 6'3" and 205 and not sure about the 186 or 191 due to Nordica website recommendations but I did see the ski essentials review. I mostly ski Whiteface in lake placid (Iceface) with trips out west on ikon so I wasn't sure if I should get the 191 for longer edge contact. Any reviews after riding them for a few years would be most helpful. thanks.

Had the 186cm 104 for 1.5 seasons and found they a great soft snow daily driver out West and super fun in East Coast Spring skiing. The issues were they didn’t bite harder snow as well and the turning radius was too low for higher speed stability. Swapped to the 21 Faction CT 2.0 three years ago as it’s similar weight and flex to the E104 but less tip/tail taper for better grip and a longer turning radius so it’s more comfortable at speed. Not as good float though but I have wider skis for that. The latest Factions are much lighter though so aren’t comparable.

The 191cm version of the E104 would definitely improve things over the 186cm especially at your size and I’d mount up a cm or so to make more playful.

Depending on if you have a narrower ski for the East as well, the Unleashed 108 in the 191cm is another great option. Less taper and rocker than the Enforcers so it’s less loose and more precise along with a longer turn radius so it’s better at speed.

Another option is the 191cm Rossignol Sender Free 110 which again is better gripping and more stable than the Enforcers but will still be playful even mounted on the Directional mount point(-2cm from the much forward Rec mount).

Thanks a lot for the info Greg. I'll look into those as well. The next 5 years I'll be spending a lot of time out west and in Canada at big resorts, so I am leaning more towards that style of ski for now and getting a pure carver for back home.

191cm Sender Free 110 then if you’re getting narrower skis too eventually. Better float than E104 but an even better carver with greater grip.

Better carver then the Nordica's? Thats impressive. Looking at them now.

Similar weight and flex to the Enforcer 104 but longer turn radius for more stability and less taper/longer effective edge for better grip.

Just be sure to mount -2cm to -3cm from rec if you want to drive the ski. Even at -3cm you’re still about 2.5cm forward of an Enforcer Free factory mount.
