Nootropics (smart drugs)

The whole nootropic thing is relatively new but it makes sense that getting more of certain nutrients will help your brain function better. Just like eating healthy helps your body function better.

yeah I gotchathe thing is that everyone's digestive system works the same way [with obvious exceptions] but everyone's brain functions differently. this stuff seems like a good idea I just feel like it needs to be tested for a decade or two.

the first thing I thought when I saw this thread title was that this is gonna be something like the synthetic/designer/bathsalts stuff they sell in gas stations.

I've heard very good things about Nootropics, except from one of them named "Noopept" (which is arguably the best one) which apparently makes the brain produce the things brain tumors grow from.

Ive been taking Alpha Brain for maybe a little over a month now. Nothing major just more "tweaks" ive noticed. I feel more sharp, even when I wake up Im not all groggy, but Im not gonna start solving mathematical equations on a chalk board at Harvard anytime soon. Im more concentrated I feel when Im doing tasks, and when I read I feel I can retain what Im reading faster and not have to re read the sentence and such.

If any of you work out, or even play sports, one product from Onnit, (the people who make Alpha Brain) I really like and find works real well is Shroom Tech Sport. Its like a non-stimulant pre-workout.

This is basically exactly what I was expecting. How many do you take a day?

I was curious about how STS was for skiing, like if you can ride harder with out getting as tired and have longer "peak" performance. Because my riding though out the day seems to follow sort of a bell curve.

I've never taken them, but I know a bunch of people who do. It'd be interesting to see a larger body of research on them regarding cognitive improvements in regular people, but in the meantime I'm not going to spend a bunch of money on something that is neither convincingly effective, nor FDA tested.

Why try fake drugs when you could try Krokodil. A great drug that gets you high and makes you die. Also, I heard from the grape vine that adrenaline is the greatest drug.

I mean i take three of those daily; Nicotine, caffeine, and a SSRI (anti depression/anxiety).

The concept is cool and scary at the same time. I wonder if one day the will come up with an nzt like substance. That could change the entire human existence. If we all become genius everything would change. The scary thing with all of those is the side effects. I will probably be taking that SSRI for my whole life and I pray that it doesn't end up fucking up my brain or body.

Tumors are just cells that are replicating at an abnormal rate. Maybe it's different for brain tumors? I'm not really sure

the Shroom techs could probably help with skiing.. I never took them riding but when Im in the gym I can defiantly notice a difference in how long I can go and with the same intensity as when I walked in

Ritalin, and other a.d.d meds don't have any effect on how smart someone is. It just makes you focus on what you are doing and stay awake.
