Noob question about bindings

I just opened my first pair of bindings (marker griffon) and they have this white, paint-like substance on them. Is this normal?
 
Yeah that stuff is your friend. If there is one piece of equipment you should take really good care of, its the bindings
 
The guy who packaged your bindings definitely added a bit of extra goat semen, consider yourself lucky
 
I work at marker and I am in charge of shipments. You may have some of my kids in our binding. Before i send out any shipment I am sure to bust a few nuts to keep your bindings high quality for as long as possible. If you don’t want the semen on your binding just scoop it all into a bag and put it into your girlfriends shampoo.
