No XGames for Casabon

Upsetting but there are tons of athletes who put so much more stock into Slopestyle, so it's not surprising. But they also aren't doing a tour of fifty resorts across the good 'ole You Es of Ayyy

while i agree from a technical standpoint, not many are on his level in terms of creativity and style. too bad none of that matters

Casabon at x games:

09: 5th

10: 4th

11: 7th

12: 16th (injured)

13: has one of the tightest doubles now

That's pretty consistent, much more professional than the children who have a 50/50 chance of finishing a run

This! Adding the fact that the course is build for B-Dog, lots of possibilty on the rail section.

The selection is probably based on the olympics and the pressure done by the coaches

Year after year Casabon lays down a stylish yet technically boring middle of the pack run. Xgames doesn't want that anymore and they know there are plenty of other skiers ready to spin their hearts out.

Yeah, upper section this year looks spot on, much better than the past couple of years, and many more options. Hopefully athletes aren't forced into hitting anything just because of pre-determined scoring.

I as well love to watch cassabons run more than the average dub cork high mute. But the current direction slopestyle is going, it is no surprise he didn't get invited/

i see what your saying but i think this year he is going to throw more, how can i say it, hard tricks/ doubles

Real bummer 'cause I feel like he would have slayed that creative 2nd/3rd rail feature. Right up his alley. Plus, he has improved his jumps a lot and has some sick dubs now.

Whatever. At least we still have Henrik to look forward to on that feature.

0/10 for bringing out that dinosaur of a joke.

But yeah, not surprised that he wasn't invited, but nor do I really care. As much as I like watching him ski, I really don't even think he is even that interested in competing in the event.

Yeah he busted up his hand earlier in the season. Things like that heal up quick. I don't even think it was a matter of Phil's ability or nothing, he just hasn't had solid results like ever, and states in interviews that competing is nowhere near his top priority. If X-Games is not a major priority of his, why should he be given a spot, when someone who dreams of making it there can instead? I think it's only fair. Thats word to Noah Morrison, seems like only yesterday you accidentally kicked a soccerball into my face.

xgames invites are based on the current year standings (dew, grand prix, NFO) and then are backed up by the previous years results. Phil just didnt have the results this year which is why he didnt make it.

not rad, but straight up has he ever made it out of the elimination round? his style is dope but as we all know the judges at most comps would disagree.

Yep that's about it. Care about those AFP points boys and girls, because they are what gets you into contests.
