One degree Celsius, the point at which water turns to snow.

Wouldn't it be 0 degrees Celsius? The freezing point of water is 0 degrees Celsius. I think 1 degree would be slush at best.

I'm not a scientist. I'm just telling you what I read back in the day on their website.

Our public school system has seriously failed all of us if we think we have to be scientists to know that water freezes at 0 degree Celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Not a stupid question, just one regarding stupid people. Why on earth do parents as full grown seemingly intelligent adults bring kids (or go by themselves) into the park and carve under landings or stop in the worst spots and then proceed to yell at you when you narrowly avoid killing them about how you’re being dangerous

Had a run in with that earlier today...

It’s ridiculous, even when you try to be completely polite about it they lose it and turn it into a lecture about how they’re an adult and they know the rules better... even if they’ve never even read the park warning signs

Hot lap through dog patch, little kid traversed from the rail section to the jumps. Couldn't see the kid because he traversed to the backside of the jump I was heading into. Almost took the lil fucker out. The dad was an ass but surprisingly the mom was mad at her kid.

To set this straight:

Their website says "One Degree Celsius is the temperature in which water molecules begin to transform into their solid state. "

Which is false.

Water molecules also do no 'begin to transfer into their solid state' at 0 C either.

The actual temperature is close to 4 deg C (or roughly 39 f).

This is the reason water is densest at roughly 4 degrees: water molecules continually become less excited and 'slow down' and are able to pack closer and closer as temperatures cool to 4 C (water is at its densest state). Then, once it reaches below that temperature, water molecules start to bond to form ice. Ice is less dense than water so as water cools from 4 C to 0 the bonds forming by the water molecules actually push them apart and it becomes less dense until 0, when the molecules slow enough to fully bond to each other and form ice.

So Icelantic is wrong. 1 C means nothing. 4 C and 0 C are the important numbers.
