No Park until February?

Eldora hasn't had a park all year due to snow, but last week they finally got a storm and they are opening up a brand new park tomorrow. (February 8th)

Has anyone ever heard of a park opening this late in the season?

It shouldn't be too bad as they got all of echo's rails and boxes when they closed down last season.

Never heard of something like this no, a few mountains around me don't get a lot of stuff put in til early-mid January, but February is ludicrous.

it's eldora, no one ever goes there to ski park.... it's not exactly a money maker for them

Wow. I've never heard of that before. Most mountains I know of have a park up within the first few weeks of their opening. If not, they just don't have one. That sucks man.

I'm not about to drive 2 hours to summit every other day and pay an absurd amount for a lift ticket. Eldora is basically in my backyard and I love being able to mob around there. oh aaand they are finally putting up a park so let me be excited

Thats super shitty! But, as stated previously, smaller mountains tend to not care as much about their parks. But small mountains are fun as HELL to lap.

Damn. Unrelated to the tread but I was wondering what they did with all of those rails. I drove up there like 2 weeks ago to look for them.

Ski santa fe's "park" still isn't open. Didn't open till the end of February last year. Made the mistake of getting my pass there last year. Now it doesn't really affect me because I'll drive the extra hour to taos any day but still....

Epic pass is like $600 and the cheaper one is like $300 seems like if you had to live there it'd be worth it. Plus isn't elders between summit and Denver? It can't be more than an hr from your house? Maybe I'm just confused

define "park" my hill sets up a few rails and usually one jump in December then opens every other run before building the full park so its never up before mid to late January

Vagina residue left on ones penis after intercorse

When you f*** a broad then she leaves, but you do not shower. Broad #2 comes over and then blows you. Aka she's sucking on the "CHOWDA"

I was wondering who got all those. Kind of wanted to try to get my hands on a few if the going rate was cheap. Honestly even free would have been too much but I just liked the idea. /east coast

A mountain near me is having opening day tomorrow possibly. That's pretty ridiculous.

It seems like if your mountain is able to open you could have a park though. No jumps, but a few rails.

Also seems like kind of a waste of nice planet rails/boxes. How can a mountain in CO not have enough to set up a few rails?

it's been the worst winter in 30 years for Eldora, and they haven't been able to make snow for months now due to their water supply....

if it doesn't snow or rain A LOT before next season there's going to be summer fires and a very low water supply for making snow next season

I'm slowly learning that colorado is more or less a desert, and I need to move closer to the ocean to have more consistent snowfall.. colorado (summit county) is perfect if you are a park rat and like waiting in lines for hours

i dont get what's going on in this thread. op said his mountain might open up a park, sure it's late in the season, but any park is better than no park, why not show some stoke!?

Because he lives in Colorado he could ski park in November he just chooses to ski at the shittiest mountain in the summit area

I feel like the shittiest season there is still prolly better than other places. If you have enough snow to open you could build a small park with some rails at least.

I prolly would have say fuck it and get a pas to another mountain next year.

I'm a lifty at Eldora and because I work there I get to ski free at almost everywhere in Colorado except anything that starts with a V..... (and owned by V)

Eldora is not even in Summit County dumbass

it's my home mountain and I am stoked that they finally opened a park

and yeah I went to keystone in november and their pre-season park shits on almost every other park including dora's current park but I'm not about to drive 2 hours to get some laps in and then drive back another 2 hours when I could make a quick trip to Dora??

Maybe you just hate parks. I used to drive 3.5 to hit mount snow pretty regularly.

Good parks are worth the drive and lack of sleep.

My shitty 2 cents though so take it with a gram of bathsalts.

Sounds like a personal problem here. You live in co and bitch about parks not being built when you could not be lazy and drive 1.5hrs. You obviously like eldora and have a connection to it but seems dumb to make a thread about how long it took then to build a park when for $300 you could drive a little farther and ski the best parks in the world.

I could ski Canyon ski hill in Red Deer ab and complain about their shitty rollers and 5 foot long boxes they call a park, but instead I drive 3-3 and 1/2 hours each weekend to ski Sunshine or Lake Louise. I think its worth it, if you have a good time where you're skiing there's no need to go any further though

it's not about that. I've made a decision to NOT ski the overcrowded gaper filled resorts in summit county because I don't want to. Park isn't everything to me

It seems that you're the one bitching, I made this thread to see if any other resorts are in the same situation, not to bitch about it opening up so late.

I think you got a stick up your ass eheath and you probably enjoy it.

yeah I did send him a pm and here's what it said...

why do you feel so obligated to bitch on everybody's stuff? It's really fucking annoying man you don't support or give positive advice to anyone. It's pretty obvious that deep down you aren't happy and content with how you are living.... but that doesn't mean you should go on NS to take it out. fuck off and go home eheath

he's actually a faggot tho and he tries to laugh it off but deep down he knows that he's a faggot... go sit on your thumb fatass and get off this thread

ya colorado is a desert and doesn't snow only good for park, i cant wate to move closer to the ocean and get more consistent snow, everyone remember that

I invented the name basement dweller, it was my idea to have it under my name. You are out of your element.
