No more volkl katana??

i was just looking around and either i'm going crazy or there is no (regular, non $1000 v-werks) katana next year...?

also i guess katana talk would be better approached on TGR but i still don't go on there much.. if there's any discussion about this over there that you know of please link it..i googled but not nothing

you guessed right my man... my guess is that with the success of the V-Werks Katana, demand for the regular Katana dropped significantly. add to that the addition of the BMT line, the new THREE, and the cahnges to the Mantra something had to go.

If you're looking for a hard charging ski just go for the Mantra. They've gone for a full-rocker profile this year just like the Katana was and made it 2mm wider underfoot. A sick choice as a big mtn charger.

man, that seems insane to me. the v werks katana, even if it wasn't 1000 dollars (!!) and only mountable with marker royal bindings, seems like a different target market than the katana. the thing was just the bread and butter badass charging ski, and maybe i havent familiarized myself enough with the line up but i don't see any of the current choices as being that similar

god that's messed up. i wasn't in need of a new pair this year anyway but i definitely saw myself getting another pair in the future. oh well, guess i'll just get some 2014s when the time comes
