No more unlimited Ikon access at Crystal

My opinion. Lines at crystal have been out of control for years now. After trying pass reservations, parking reservations, capacity signage, and phasing out walk-up day tickets with pretty much no improvement I can see why they're doing this. Will probably buy it with the expectation that I won't see any more 1hour lift lines but not super stoked that parking isn't included in a 2 grand season pass.

I know it’s gross to say…. But skiing needed to get more expensive again. The higher pass prices will quell the lines and parking problems some. Plus the expensive passes will once again encourage employment at the ski area. $1700 bucks for a pass is a stretch for a ski bum or young ripper.

yeah that's kind of what i'm thinking. as someone who's willing to spend 90% of my disposable income and free time on skiing i'm pretty down to reduce the amount of people i'm waiting in line with. even if it costs me a few hundred extra

Yeah i thought it was interesting people complaining about the crowds were as mad about it coming off the the ikon pass. Other mtns have limited ikon or epic access because of similar issues.

Dropping the ikon to 7 days will def slow the crowds. Paid parking kind of sucks but i guess more people were carpooling. Even with the psid parking the lots were full af at 9am some days.

With the new lodge i still feel it should be pulled back further from the base area. The flats by chinook are so small, if crystal expands it will be more of a shitshow. They need some more flat spac snow there imo.

Hoping enployee housing exists for another season.

That insta post has blown up with comments.

Coming off the ikon is fine by me. The $1700 pass price + paid parking is brutal, I'm officially priced out. Getting rid of employee housing seems insane? Where will everyone stay? Are they planning new employee housing, it's not like there is a town close by? I feel really bad for the employees if housing goes away, there are a lot of homies up there.

Yeah it is a really steep pass. I rhink it was like 1200 before which is still a lot. But $$$ still matters, that's a huge hike. Sucks that there isnt a free parking lot. Hopefully they do a large carpool lot. If people are bringing less cars then thats good.

Housing is going to move to Buck creek but thats a lot of people to move there and the place needs some serious work. Already people living there. Crystal is leasing it and will probably try to buy it. The thing is, if they dont buy it outright, and get rid of housing here they're going to fuck themselves over.

Greenwater doesn't have much, enumclaw is just too far.

Hopefully they'll put a bunch of trailer spots down at buck creek and i can snag one. Really like riding niagras ir housing, grabbing a pizza and some beer at the house and going back out.
