am i the only one that everyday sees another thing about how the snow is going away because of a warmer climate? i think as a failry large group of people that we should think of something to do..perhaps its a stretch...but anything i think would be good...before its to late

 
yeah i geuss the skier's of the world should be concerned but what are we going to do we could all turn into sherpa's and not drive a car and live in the moutains and eat racoon's, it's just a concept

Global warming is a trend that's accelerating, just to let you know. And if you want to make a real difference as far as prevention, tell Bush he's a retarded redneck for not signing the Kyoto Protocal because he thought "it would hurt our economy too much." And as for the "only a couple degrees" argument, that means the ski season begins a couple weeks later and ends a couple weeks earlier, along with sketchier weather in between. While utah may have recieved a ton of snow last year, about everywhere else got raped and either had to close early or dodge rocks all season. Do a little research before you state opinions that you can back up with nothing.

 
okay guys let me explain something. MANKIND would not exist if not for the gradually increasing temperature of the planet. The earth goes through CYCLES. The raise in climate thousands of years ago allowed agriculture to form which allowed us to develop into the homo sapien sapien's(modern humans) we are today. The eath goes through cycles. Need i remind you all that less than 30 years ago scientists were all worried about GLOBAL COOLING?

Global warming is occuring, thats a fact that no one can dispute. Temperatures worldwide are on the rise and are higher now than they were 30 years ago. Wheter this is a result of the greenhouse effect is still to be debated.

However warmer water in the alaskan ocean = more and stronger storms. Which for utah = more snow, thats part of the reason we got so much snow last year, the warm pacific ocean...similar to el nino.

 
allright dumb fucks do some research, warmer weather means the lake systems dont freeze over and more evaporation which means MORE SNOWWWW. for a little while until it gets to warm. thats why areas like LAKE tahoe and utah around salt LAKE city had great seasons. but areas such as colorado and whistler didnt. come on kids its the water cycle.

 
Bingo, people forget how old the earth is, sure it's warm for the years we've been recording, but we've only recorded a tiny percentage of the earth's existance.
