I dont think there is a point in NS wasting time covering FWT because when i want to watch FWT coverage i go straight to redbull tv or whatever else. I come on NS to look at park edits and whats happening in the scene. I think supporting it perhaps in the weekly coverage or something wouldnt be a bad thing but it might be a waste of money for ns to travel to the events and cover them as i dont think ns has a big enough audience to cover that cost especially since not all of ns would be interested. Not saying im not interested, but when i am i go to FWT website. its not hard to do

I sorta agree with this, I don't come to NewSchoolers for the edits, I come for the forums and you can watch a whole event on the fwt website and the highlights on redbull tv

Exactly, neither of those guys usually throw any threes or backies in there but they're IN CHARGE when they're shutting down speed through avy debris and whatnot

Top male skier imo is Loic Collumb patton, but I hope Logan Pehota or George Rodney wins this year. Also excited to see Conor Pelton in his prime

Best female skier is Kylie Syvell and it's not even close. Girl is such a strong skier... rips and goes huge. Think hadley hammer with better style.

Snowboard men isn’t even fair with a pro like Sammy Leubke raising the bar way over everyone else. He won all but one stop last year. I’ve always liked ralph backstroms riding and hope Jonathan Penfield steps up this year— he killed it on the FWQ winning everything years ago

snowboard women shouldnt even be a category. Sorry equall opportunists but it’s a waste of money space and time to have those girls compete. Just drop it. Maybe some nasty girl will step up and compete in mens someday. I watched every replay the next day at my desk jobs for 6 years and never saw an interesting run by a female snowboarder

I emulate his high octane charging for sure. I'd like to see a more stylish skier like Loic or Logan or Conor win cuz I want the sport to go in that direction. But really I'd like to see a film-part focused skier like Sammy C or Connery Lundin or Duncan Adams or Wylie Miller or Adam Delhome or Kye Petersen (this list could go on and on and on) enter and tear shit up. Like how Travis Rice was in Japan when they had the hakuba 4* FWQ comp and he threw down and won by a mile stomping 3s and a 7 off a rollover in low visability.

The whole FWQ ranking system and travel requirements make it difficult for the best riders to go to FWT. Props to guys like George Rodney, Trace Cooke and Pehota who put in the work traveling and throwing down hard and making it. Andrew Pollard should have made it in this year but was pushed out of the top 3 by like 100 points. If he does all the FWQ tour this winter, I'd bet on him to win and go to 2019 FWT

Rachel's straight line at kicking horse 4* last year was ballsy. Super strong skier.

I'm stoked for the FWT at kicking horse. Should be interesting.

What are the best ways for us to follow the fwt circuit? Like other than your insta and fb feed, what other athletes are most interesting to follow? What other media platforms are being used that we may not know about? And most importantly— Which girls on tour are single? Asking for a friend. Thanks and good luck this season

So besides all the FWT social media accounts, their Youtube channel is actually a pretty good place to look for event updates and more content. Sometimes they let us do athlete takeovers for their Snapchat account too which is pretty entertaining (@fwtofficial)
