um i love theses skis with all my heart, and i cant understand why they would discontinue their best selling ski. Needless to say the afterbangs look dope, but life wont be the same without invaders.
i know the afterbangs arnt the replacement i was just simply stating that they seem sick. Im basing that on the article thing that was about the line skis winter confrence.
The invaders and anthems are almost the same dimensions... i put them up next to each other yesterday at work and there is maybe 2 mm on either side that is wider.. this doesnt make that much of a difference. the anthem is a better ski, they used the anthem to phase out the invader i'm sure.. the afterbang should be a better ski than the invader though, symmetrical(115-88-115), bombproof construction, sick graphics.
The Masterminds are not replacing the invaders. They are more of an all mountain ripper.
They are unsymmetrical
No Ollie band
No butter zones
The only thing these two ski's have in common are the price point. I will also be missing the invader's because i LOVE them, but i believe that the afterbangs are going to be a great replacement. I am really looking forward to riding them.
im gonna say this again, mastermind is still a price point freestyle based ski, think silencer from k2. afterbang is the truly symmetrical park ski replacing the invader, its not price point tho, but better construction and a little wider platform.
The invaders are not durable at all. All of the sides are chipped and peeling on mine. The bases are easy to scratch too. I wanted something more durable.
hmmm, let me think........... is there a ski that doesnt chip or scratch? no, because there is no such thing. and the scratches on your bases, are probably from hitting rocks branches etc, which leaves a scratch, not a gouge, in any ski.
