screw up doing anything and you may be toast. Yes, technically getting the flat is a little tough, but its not that hard.
All skiing is, is a combination of using your skis flat, using your skis on edge, manipulation of your body (balance), and manipulation of your equiptment (bending the skis, felxing the boots). Yes this sounds simplistic, but thats basically it (there really are 4 skills needed to ski, Balance, Edging, Rotary movements, and Pressure). If you can learn to separate the skills and focus more on one than the other and adapt as you ski, you can ski anything.
The ability to get your skis flat is a little tough to learn at first, but extremely worth it in the long run.
