No brakes lowkey clean af

Not even an option if your mountian gets snow and is higher than 500 ft above sea level. Have fun.

(Edit, just saw the "ski the east" sticker. That explains a LOT.)

Honestly it does look clean. And a little lighter if youre really counting. Theyre definitely vital on the mountain but for small sessions or urban I dont see why not.

Just last weekend I went had to look for my ski for like half an hour on a small ass hill… my stopper was bent so it didn’t work properly. It was very humbling to slide around in the forest on one ski looking fucking lost for 30 minutes straight.

I broke a pair of brakes and rode brakeless for a season. It has some ups and downs. I enjoyed not having my ski pants caught in the brakes. However loosing a ski was dangerous. Skis turn into missiles pretty fast

In steep pow brakes don't have much effect anyway. I'm not sure if they have that back east though.

Shits an ice rink, jawns be sliding down the hill brake or no brake

Jokes aside though, when I was a ski patroller, this was the one thing I would pull a pass for every time, no leniency. If a runaway ski or board comes flying down the hill like a missile and and hits someone in the head, they could be easily paralyzed or killed.

There's a reason we have ski brakes. Grow up.

Totally can't recall how many times brakes did nothing and the ski still ended up at the bottom of the hill or in the woods.

Baskets look like shit and should be taken off if there isn't pow. Poles just feel better without them.. Always a boomer liftie that yells at you for it.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone who's visually bothered by pole baskets...

There's a legitimate increase in the chance of impaling someone (yourself included) with your pole without baskets. Might sound crazy, but it's certainly not unprecedented.

people that ski on squires are usually the ones that loose a ski on a front swap and the ski goes mach 1 into the lodge.

#nooffense :D

yep but im aboot $150 richer than if I bought pivots sooo

Younger homie broke his squire brake last weekend and is stressin cause the replacement one doesn’t come till Jan 4th. He says they work he just has to lift the binding up himself. I just don’t wanna tell him he’s coolin with no brakes n then something worse happens. So did the no Brakes on squires work good for you?

i think if i was in that situation i'd try to get my hands on a leash-- it clips to your leg or boot and also to the binding so it doesn't fly down the hill if it comes off. as far as i'm aware, ski resorts are satisfied with them as a suitable substitute for breaks but YMMV
