Nikwax Cotton- waterproofing jeans

Anybody ever used Nikwax cottonproof wash for their jeans or other cotton garments? I'll go and admit that I'm wondering whether it'd make jeans pretty wearable on a spring day at the hill. It's obviously not gonna turn them into a raincoat, but I'm wondering if it'd stop em from sopping up water like a sponge. I'm wondering the same thing about sweatshirts/t-shirts. The bottom always gets all wet from falling on my ass. Wondering if that'd stop it.
