i'm looking to get into some photography and a kid is offering one of these in good condition on my local sell/trade page. i know nothing about cameras... how is this one?

It is a fine camera, but how much does he want for it? its about $350 with a kit lens or $200 body only on ebay.

It is an ok camera. It is good if you are looking for a very compact camera. Keep in mind that it won't autofocus with many lenses, only Nikon AF-S lenses.
