Nikon D3300

I want to start out filming and taking pictures and was wondering if this is a good camera to start out on. Also if there is anything that I should now before buying a DSLR. Please help.

spend a little bit more and get a 5200. It isnt much more and its a better camera. I love mine.

gonna have to second this.

I started on a 3100 and from there went to a 7000, looking to get a 610 pretty soon though. 3300 is a solid little camera, but the 5200 is great.
